I've got the adaptronic installed and partially tuned but I'm having some trouble with the Air and Water temp sensors.

Both read fine with the engine off but once the car is running the value fluctuates. The water temp seems to be tied to rpm. The air temp just goes to the max value and sits there.

I've checked the sensor grounds and it appears to be okay. I was thinking that maybe the water temp sensor might be picking up something from the ignition but it didn't do that with the link.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a layout of the connections you made? Or are you driving with the loom?

I used this spreadsheet Diagram to make my own harness.

It is a modified version of the one found on the Adaptronic website.

The engine was too hot to get at the connector for the water temp sensor, so I'm going to try unplugging it in the morning.

looking to the diagram I don't see anything that can be wrong.
What can be an option: the ground between de connector and the ecu is to thin. it can result in a voltage drop on the ecu when there is power usages, i.e. injection. this is written in the installation manual.

I'm assuming that you kept the original wiring in the enginebay for the injectors and the watertempsensor.

Correct, I left the injector and water temp sensor wiring alone.

I only used 2 of the Adaptronic chassis grounds, so I guess I'll try connecting the rest of them.

I tried adding the extra chassis grounds (3 more carrying 1A combined), might be a good idea but it didn't get rid of the oscillating temp values.

I also tried grounding the shield wire in the Adaptronic harness that goes with the CAS wires. No luck there either...

I finally figured it out. It wasn't any of the connections I had made. Mazda tied the sensor grounds to the back of the intake manifold along with a chassis ground.

So if you get really noisy sensor readings on a 1.6 cut this black-lightgreen wire, located here.

I've attached before and after datalog samples that show the how the noise was tied to injector pulse width (current really), and what it looks like with the wire cut.

I think all the noise may have killed my TPS though. I'll look into that tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Once I traced my way through the ecu wiring diagram the hardest part was trying to locate that wire.

Oh, and the TPS is fine. I reflashed with the newest firmware and everything is great.
