99 AEM EMS setup

99 AEM EMS setup
I'm having an issue getting my 99 miata started. I finished up my install of 3071r turbo, aem ems, dw 1000, cop wired wasted spark, aem wideband, aem ait, gm 3bar map, etc.. I purchased a boom sling harness and installed a 95 alternator and wired it up. I can't get the car to start. I had an issue with the first injector the first cylinder gets loaded up with fuel. I switched the injector back to the factory and the same thing happens. So I thought it was a short holding the injector open. When I was testing the wire it will on short out when I plug the injector fuse in. When I pull the fuse the wire is open no short. This leads me to believe that I have something set wrong on the Aem ems. I made sure the vcc settings were unchecked. I then switched the first injector to injector output 5. no more flooding. I bought the ecu used maybe something was changed internally IDK. Any way i still cant get the thing started. any suggestions??? plugged factory ecu and it fires up.

and it works with cyl. 1's injector operated by injector driver #5? IF so, the cool. Leave it alone, eh? Definitely could be something funny with the box/driver. Or one of us can send you our map to see and you can use the compare feature to see if there's anything funny checked in some random options menu.

mpicanco,
Where did you get your base map from?
If you got it from a 94-97 miata, for the crank/cam setup, big mistake.
Search for my crank/cam setup post for the 99~05, (I posted one for COPs too)
or if J_Man has posted one.
There's some discussion in m.net too.
TurboTim, no disrespect, but pls. refrain from confusing the guy if you haven't set up a 99/00. Setting up the cam/crank stuff is poorly documented, very confusing, and easy to get wrong.

You sir are absolutely right. I fixed my posts. I try to keep my $0.02 out unless I am relatively certain about what I'm talking about but with this AEM tooth setup stuff, I'm not. Hopefully you can help me out with my wastedspark V6 when the time comes. I think I know the settings but probably don't.
EDIT: Is injector output/LS 9 paramater 'on' when you turn on the ignition even though you unchecked the VVT stuff? I remember from Savington's VVT thread that internally on the 30-1710 box injectors 1 & 2 are connected to 9 & 10.

He is using coil drivers 1-4 as well. Definitely not correct. The 30-1710 box does have a couple of the drivers paired for wasted spark cars. Coil driver #6 is paired with #1, and coil driver #7 is paired with #2.
We also need to know whether you are using the OEM '99 cam/crank sensors, or whether you are using the '94 CAS. Makes a huge difference.
We also need to see the entire Advanced Pickups screen, including the tooth control table.
