Default 1995 w/ 2.0L VVT Swap - AEM Infinity 6

I finally got my Miata down to the dyno at UMS Tuning in Tempe AZ yesterday. I first wanna thank Tony @ UMS for taking on this challenge and getting the car to fire with no available Crank Angle Trigger settings. He had to shave some teeth off of the intake cam but it worked out great. I believe it may the one of the first, if not the only VVT Engine Miata running on AEM Infinity! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Some Engine Specs:

2.0L VVT motor built by Trackspeed Engineering
AEM Infinity 6 ECU with Universal Harness Running E85
Stock Cams
60T-2 Trigger Wheel
Squaretop Manifold
Shim Under Bucket Lifters
700cc Injectors
FM Flex Fuel Kit
Coolant Reroute
Skunk2 Throttle Body
FM Oil Cooler Kit
949 Cross-flow Radiator with FM Fan Kit
SuperMiata Race Twin Clutch
Racing Beat Header
Custom Intake/Exhaust

Made 162 Wheel Horsepower and 145 Ft/lbs Torque

The InfinityTuner Software was having issues during dyno pulls. It would only log data up to 5000 RPM then lose connection so we had no data at high RPMs. Thus, tuning became difficult and it was more of a guessing game. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon and we can fine tune the top end some more and maybe even squeeze out some more power up top!

Here is a video of one of the pulls. The idle sounds a little odd do to the air idle control valve coming loose and causing a small vacuum leak which we fixed right after this was filmed.

Let me know what you think. I will try my best to answer any questions, comments, or concerns.

Thanks

-Zack

Nice numbers!

Noob question, but aren't those 700cc injectors over kill? I'm worried about running 430cc injectors on my high comp engine.

145wtq is indicative of a lot being left on the table up top. You should be able to "squeeze out" another 10-12whp without too much trouble. As the motor seals up, it will pick up another 3-4ft.lbs as well.

Very cool build.
