right so i ordered my fic last week. and am starting to learn how to use it.
i am a little confused. can some one please help me by awsnering theese simple questions. i downloaded someones cal file to have a look at and get the gist before makeing my own
in the fuel table what dose the number mean. i was expecting to sea a ratio for fuel to air but in the cal file i found theres numbers as high as 90.
are each cell in the tables a target. is this the target that the fic will try and get to
am i able to use AEM's new 'tunner' softwear on the fic instead of the fic softwear as it seems more visuel and helpfull.

I recently got my FIC running, so I'll try to help you out a bit.
first, what size injectors are you running? this information is crucial because the FIC will intercept the signal going to the ECU/PCM and manipulate it accordingly. The number entered in the cell is essentially the duty cycle. So if the stock injector size is 260CC and you are now running 700CC injectors - the spray pattern will have to be adjusted at every RPM
(The AEM software has a built in calculator to create a "base map" for the fuel table. Right click the bottom gray corner, where the x & y axis meet) enter in stock injector size, new injector size & all other parameters is asks for.
next is ignition - general rule is for every pound of boost you will want to take away 1 degree of timing
The idea is to let the factory ECU handle everything when out of boost & the FIC handles all the fuel & ignition while in boost. You want them to work together and not fight one another. the best way to do that is to hide or trick the factory PCM/ECU to not see the boost is there

The FIC can be a tricky devil to work with. I have a fair amout of exp. with it in conjunction with the stock 90-93 ecu.
If you are in-fact starting with a stock set-up (no boost, stock injectors) then you should be able to start with zeros in all maps and have transparent operation. If you aren't getting this far then you probably either have an interconnect problem (electrical or vac), or a load input/scale issue in the settings page.
I would suggest you start with fuel map from MAP load
Timing from MAP
MAF from MAF with 5V clamp, no scaling (percent, voltage in equals voltage out)
O2 set to percent with zeros in the map, high drive, 0 V low, 1V high
disable accel enrich with a 0 in the ~second~ (going by memory here) box
Sounds like you have tan-tops, I have seen good FIC results with an IRT of 1300, my measured values with the MS are more in the 700 range. I am able to get stable AFRs throughout my map at 1300, so start there.
Make sure you run through the RPM cal.
There are some implications with using the TPS on a manual car from 90-93, the idle switch in the TPS is 12V referenced, the FIC is designed to handle 5V, so it bonks. A resistor divider fixes this, let me know if you are going down this path.
Post back when you get to this point if you want some tuning advice.
