Ok so my project has made another turn. Due to all the awesomeness happening in my life right now like wrecking my civic, my turbo growing legs, my FIC not working and some other things I am going a different way with the miata. I am going to build an exhaust that goes out the back and run the motor N/A. I have a stock set of injectors and with the FIC jumper harness in everything will be fine. This will give me time to see what is wrong with the car with out the hassle of the turbo and I have all the stuff to put the turbo on minus the turbo so boosting it will be easy. I plan to get it back up and running in the next two months and try to finish putting it together. I need to install the harness and tuck a few things out of the way and put the stock injectors in it. This will save me a ton of time and let me enjoy my car for a bit before it goes back under the knife. I am taking time to do a bunch of work around my house as well as fix my girlfriends VW witch I have been ignoring for some time now. So I need to get my general life back in order before I can finish the toy. I hope to make somewhere around 220 whp with the stock 2j and that will be more than enough fun for a while. It will still get all sorts of looks for the motor being out of the hood and I will still enjoy driving my car for the pure reason it is a miata. I am still going to finish the project it is just taking much longer than ever expected and with everything going on this is what needs to happen.

So got one thing knocked off the list tonight. I got my dads truck fixed witch has seemed to have a dead miss gremlin for the last few months and it kicked my *** but its good to go. I also got my hands on a E-Gay turbo so we will try that again hopefully that will last a little longer this time. I will update when more is done.

how can I make my ride softer??
hi guys I am trying to soften my ride on a nc 06 grand touring and want to trade my 17" alluminum rims like new condition only 15000mi with 205x45 tires also 15000mi for a set of 14 or 15 or 16" 5 bolts 114.3 offset 55mm with higher wall tires at least 55. Let me know if interested. Anyone has changed the springs on a NC to make it softer??

Well as of right now the car is on hold. I decided because it goes historic at the end of the year not to rush it anymore. Being that my replacement turbo got stolen and I in the middle of dealing with some major stuff at home it has to wait. It would run if I stuck the harness in it but I have not yet. I should have it running soon and then new turbo and tuned by winter I will keep you all updated.

Well I had a thought today. I am going to install my engine harness in the next few weeks. I have a set of stock injectors and another stock MAF and housing. So I may just put it togeather running all stock until I can get a turbo. This will still give me just over 200hp and way more tq than a miata ever had as well as give me time to see if anything major goes wrong. I just need to drive my car I miss it. I have a DD 1995 miata but it is not the same as mine. I will see what I can do and let you all know.

If I had a choice to do it anyway I wanted I would just go with a 2jzgte the 1j would save you about 1.5 inches of heigth but I could easily make that up had I just cut my entire cross member and remade the center section. That is the only thing I would change. Personally I like the 2jzge because it is cheap and I will never need more than 800 whp witch can safely be made with this motor. All in all I am more than happy with the way it was built. So If I could do it I would use a R154 trans 2jzgte motor. But you have to know anything that says GTE on it means money that is why I like the GE. As far as wiring it was not bad at all. Find all the powers and grounds in the harness cut splice and you are off to the races. The wire tuck was not bad on the harness either especially after wiring it. I can help with wiring if anyone else wants to do this swap it is really as simple as splicing in 8 wires and you are running.
On a side note I made the decision today to put it together NA for now until winter when I can do the turbo. This will be super easy considering all I need is a turbo lol.

I'm definitely interested in doing the swap, but is something that I will have to start some time next year. I think the only thing that may be a little inconvenience to me would be welding in the motor mounts and trans mount. I have done countless swaps in the past but, you can't compare Honda swaps to this type of monster swap. Plus my welding skills totally blow!!! When the time comes I would like to get in contact with you and maybe you can share some of the insights, do's and don't of the swap. Also I think that the 2jzgte is too rich for me as well so I would most likely choose the 1jz or the GE instead. Nevertheless, either way it will be a monster once is done. Thanks in advance for the help.
Let me know how this thing runs in NA form, I'm sure is a beast either way.

I can definitely help and let you know what you will or will not need. I can tell you it is not the same as a Honda swap they have to be the easiest in the world but at the same time this was not bad at all. I mean it took me a while to figure out how to wire the car than the rest and money really held me back. We had the motor mounted with trans mount and rear in the car in 3 days this includes winding in and making all the mounts so it is really not bad. Shoot me a pm when you wanna do it and I will let you know everything I can.
