So I've made progress, but not the kind I was hoping for. Instead of starting to tune the car, I had a bunch of **** that needed to be addressed first.
1) My whole injector harness bullshit. Thread can be found HERE
levnubhin was nice enough to sell me a harness and ship it quickly, so I received it friday. unfortunately it didn't work/fit on my car. So I cut off the plugs/pigtails and as much as I hate soldering, had to solder them onto my current harness.
Took my time with it and did a very thorough and clean job.
Looks like a champ now:
(next to the 94 hacked up wiring and my bullshit s5 old connectors)
Went to replace a leaking valve cover gasket, and decided to repaint the cover as well.
(sitting on top of the extra transmission I bought cause I'm sure I'll break my current one soon LOL)
Here's the unpleasant part:
Looking at the timing belt I noticed drops of oil all over it. I took off the covers and noticed splashes of oil all down the front of the engine as well as drops of coolant.
I freak out and take everything off the front suspecting either a cam seal leak or front crank seal leak. Well it was neither. It was the valve cover gasket (which was leaking on the sides as well, damn it) since both cam seals and crank seals were dry and nice (new too cause I just replaced em when I built the engine).
The coolant looks like was coming from the water pump.
Took that off, cleaned it, and called around for seals. No one carried them. Had to go to mazda:
******* ripoff at 26 bux for 2 gaskets but I need them and don't want to risk another leak.
So yeah. Minor set back, but I hope after I get everything back on by monday or tuesday that I can FINALLY
start tuning this sombitch
