I blame the holidays and having to actually work to support this hobby!

Got the bolts back. Some how miscommunicated the yellow zinc and got clear zinc. No complaints. Turned out amazing!

This panda is sad at hell at clear, but that's still an awesome box of hardware.

I'm actually very disappointed. I was looking forward to the blue/yellow pairing. Beyond the fact that it won't rust, it'll look like a bunch of wire wheeled bolts. You've gone this far, I'd return them and get what you wanted.

That being said, further down the line if you ever want to match hardware to the zinc stuff, this clear would probably be a lot easier to match.

Leave all the bigger brackets like the diff brackets, battery bracket, and PPF bracket clear I guess, you won't really see those.

Well I flip flop more than a politician. I kept staring st the bolts repeating to myself that it was OK but something finally snapped and after spending so much damn time cleaning the bastards I didn't want to put them back on the car.

They just look....raw, almost like fence bolts. Ugly is the word I'm looking for.

Called up the plating shop and asked...wtf. He apologized and said he'd fix it for free. So I taped the box back up and sent them back.

Gold is right for the Miata and for the color the car is.

Good man, it's hard to give something up for a little mistake when you've got the **** to finish your project sitting right in front of you.

Sometimes you just want it a certain way, and to get it different is a disappointment. Good on you for sticking to your guns.

It was very hard to just put the tape back on the box and ship it. What's another 3-4 days though in the big picture.

Roll bar padding came in so I decided to cut the holes in the body and do a test fitting of the bar. Think I may need to go a hair wider/longer so that I won't have to drill the holes at an angle. I'd love to keep it as narrow as it is since it looks great but I'd rather not mess karma.

Can't wait for those damn bolts!

(ok I had 2 bolts)

Just need to buy a foot long 3/8" drill bit.

I'm proud of you. That's exactly the right attitude for doing quality work. Looking at how fast you go, it must have been really hard.

Props to the plater for standing behind his work. It was an honest mistake. And just think, your bolts will now be double plated. 50 years from now, they'll still be perfect!

I might leave that out until you finish with the fuel tank, pump, and cover, just because of the harness bar. That could be your next project anyways.

Ever seen this picture by the way? Your muse:

I don't care what chassis that is, I'm getting an OCD boner about how clean it is.
