93' Miata stolen and flipped build thread

Something funny is going on in that log. You're at 15 AFR in boost, which first of all is not good. It seems to be flat lining at 15 AFR though, as if the sensor / TS is maxing out how lean it can read.
Something is out of place here, what does your gauge read in boost? Do your gauge and TS agree on AFR at idle?

Was taking a look at my VE table just barely and several of the cells in that RPM/KPA range are showing 120+. I adjusted them back to what they were before so we'll see after I fix the coolant hose.
I'll post the table once I get back home.

Remember that any misfire for any reason will cause a lean reading because oxygen is present. That can really mindfuck VEAL. If you were doing a lot of VEAL while you had the misfire issue, you might want to back off to an earlier tune and start from there as a baseline.
On req. fuel, you can think of that as your resolution. At the most basic level, your fueling pulse width is req. fuel x VE table value. So, if you lower the req. fuel value, you can have higher numbers in the VE table which means finer control. Max in a VE cell is 255, so you have some room.
Flying up to Utah tomorrow. Have some meetings at Hill AFB.

I used a restore point before the VEAL tuning and it seemed to get rid of the issue. Might just start adjusting cells manually and/or saving more often in case of a lean spike. I tracked down my wiring for the AFR and can't seem to find a reason why it seems to stick in TS at 15 at times. I got the gauge and TS matched up about as well as I could. They are a tiny bit off still though. Spliced into to a sensor ground on the ECU as instructed but may try running to the engine ground strap instead
Also dumped another gallon of water in the radiator. Surprise how much leaked out.
How long did it take you all to bleed the air out of the lines. I sat that for about 5 minutes letting bubbles come out but they seemed to slowly keep coming(not sure if there is air still or not). I hear jacking the front of the car up while the engine is running helps?
Also not looking forward to adjusting the hardtop. The middle front is too high above the rubber weather seal and is making quite the wind noise. Might have it too far forward by about 1/4-1/2".

You're making me want to take a road trip up north now to have you look at it!

I also personally think that this funnel works the best...
Spill-Free Funnel at National Tool Warehouse

x2 for using the lisle funnel. I use to over heat like a mo fo. I ducted and got a new wp and radiator and fans and reroute...STILL OVERHEATED. Trey bitched at me over and over in a thread to burp it with the funnel. Finally I listened. Today its 95 ambient where I live and I been doggin the **** out of my car all day tuning and ****. Still havent hit 210 on the temp gauge. Im averaging around 195-205max water temp and oil temps around 200 with the cooler. I think all that stuff helps but it wouldn't be possible without the funnel.

Fun little story for yah. Also, this was done on country back roads where there are no houses or cars. Nothing but sagebrush and rabbits to kill.
I was driving and using a lot of throttle in 5th gear...basically experiencing this
I had just gotten done pulling hard up to about 140mph, loving every single second of it. Coming up to a hill and decide to slow down to the speed limit before then. Not sure if my spidey sense went off or what because sitting on the other side was an officer with his lights on.
Promptly pull over, turn off engine, close the laptop and hide it, and get my info out for him.
Officer: Why do you think I pulled you over tonight sir?(love this question)
Jeff: Not sure officer, I did just finish building this car and I know my headlights might not be adjusted correctly, so I apologize if so.
Officer: Uh huh...well I was pulled over on the side of the road with the engine off and for the past 20 seconds I heard you accelerate for quite a long time at what I'm sure were very reckless speeds, and while I didn't see it or get a radar on you, I'll ask you to drive directly home, and don't let me see you on the road again tonight. Letting you off with a warning this time.
Jeff: Thank you officer have a good night
Thank you Karma, you blessed blessed thing you. Knowing my speedo is reading low right now, I'm sure I was doing +5-10 mph on top of the 140. Wow it is fast.
Just glad cops probably think Miatas can't go that fast. Yes, I know, stupid to do on a public road but at least it wasn't the highway, in town, or close to civilization.
