Default Turbotyla's tryhard v8 build

Alright, i guess i have been a member on here for a little bit. I guess it is finally time to allow everyone to know how gay my miata is.

Alright this is going to be a short picture dump of the various stages of my ricey *** miata trying way to hard to be semi functional and get to the car it is today or paper weight, What ever. (run on)

alright i originally joined this forum with a 91 miata. since i have had some 5 other miatas other than this one and finally bought a nb miata that cost enough to keep through the loan haha.

since owning this car, i have met and married my wife, bought a house with said wife, halfway raised a step child, wrecked and recovered from a motorcycle crash. and well taken my long *** time to get this car where i want it so i can try and not wreck in on a track haha.

here my car was when bought it.

Nice clean supercharged brg se miata. That i **** up over the next 6 years.

The first thing i did to the car was rip the supercharger off and bought suspension. Which was i guess a good idea.

drove it that way for a few years and then some lady hit me.

Then after that i removed the tupperware kit and tried to be a little more ricer and well it worked.

Then after that i got a wild hair up my ***. Decided to v6 swap my miata. It was a great idea. That i failed haha.

Well, After all the fab work i did on the v6 and realized that i was doing all the same work it would take to get a v8. I got an even dumber idea to go with an ls swap.

So i sold the v6 swap and decided to start all the fab work all over again. But its getting there i guess.

here is the current state of the car, i have a crap load of pictures of how it took me to get here and all that crap but i will just get this build thread to the current time,

I am finishing up the wiring on the car and buttoning up all the little things.

Building long tube headers and all that jazz. But the plans for the car are to be a fun street vehicle and track the car. Where i live there are absolutely no tracks . So i will have to trailer the car. Which does not bother me but as if i did not already have an insane learning curve with a ls swapped miata . now i have to drive pretty far to learn.

But that is the car so far and i hope to get to drive it on the track and not wreck it.

I plan to do some aggressive aero and get it grip fairly well for a car that will be street driven.

the cars big parts consist of

ls1 shortblock
243 ls6 heads with a little work
ls6 intake
eps 236/248 cam , 660 springs and hardened push rods
billet roller timing chain

gto mm12 t56 with shorter gearing.
low mile rebuild
ls7 clutch

ford 8.8 rear end with stage 3 axles
3.73 gears
ford racing diff.

im sure i am missing some things and i know my grammar and some other things are probably all fucked up in this thread. But i put this together kinda fast just to have a build thread here and not over at cr.net

i feel as if i am going for a more serious car and well a lot of the threads over here are more of my interest.

hope you guys do not talk too much **** on my garbage build thread, i have been lurking here for some 6 years now haha

Also here is a random picture of the next step after the car is running and more sorted out.

trying to be a future track/ kinda street car.

well it will do a whole lot of things. I will drag race it for fun. But i will not set it up for it.

and i will drive it to work gutted or semi interior and then i plan to blow the engine up trying to track it. or wreck it or what ever.

it will be my little ***** to beat on. and i will love every second! haha

yea its just an idea. My cam is a n/a cam and well the supercharger would need some other things before i ever went that route.

And who knows it may never happen. because torque down that low is the last thing i need . literally.

but i love the whine. Plus i would fab my own lower intake for the gt500 supercharger and it would be a super budget setup that could possibly net great numbers for cheap.

I know what you mean. I was impressed with lowend torque on my c5, and that thing was bone stock, fully loaded, and auto.

A setup like yours would probably spin wheels at 1500rpm in 4th

yea well we will see.

i know most people go with 15x9s on here and i plan to get a set. But i also plan to try out some 17x10s to get into the 17 inch game.

my gearing is going to be so short with the gto t56 and short tires.

so trying to get some meaty 17s under some flares and see how it does.If nothing else they will just be a street setup to help with traction.

here is a heavy xxr 17x9.75 +20mm with a pirelli 235/45/17 on it. i either need to go to a 17x9 or get a fatty r comp tire.

And also flairs so i can get the alignment correct. gv tails are also gone haha.

and if i go 17s i plan to end up with a nice light set later.

The car is still set to a low ride height so i need to adjust it. But here is another picture from when i test fitted the wheel.

i agree , but limited to pretty much running 15x10s and slicks on the street. My only options being a 225/45/15 for the street.

i have to make a choice, the car is probably going to be somewhere in the 450whp range.
so if i want any traction below 40 mph i am going to have to do something.

i plan to get some 15 inch wheel/tire setups.

but i also plan to try the 17s with cutting and flares or some gay *** body kit. it comes down to function. if the 15s do not cut it in a street tire then i will go with 17s and maybe a 245 r compound and see how the car feels.

with flares or wide body i can hopefully not make it look stupid.

that being said if i could get a hold of the pennon racing wide body i would be golden. But its a stretch to get your hands on now.

screw that. figure out how to put down more torque, not limit the amount you already have

I have a Milwaukee Sawzall!!!

At first it will be flares. But if I have to I will buy the knock off nopro wide body kit and tube the front for more room.

But getting a sticky 17 on all four would. Be awesome.

Concealer. It's a Ford 8.8 with 3.73 gears and stage 3 axles.

Unfortunately it is in the boss frog mount. But I could pass up the whole setup. So later I'll mount it myself more like v8roadsters kit.
