Default The Struggle Is Real SM build

So who's placing bets that none of my builds actually get done? So why not start another when none of them (except daily) is actually running?? Sounds good to me....

Just bought this because:
#1 - I could
#2 - I really want to w2w

It's a '99 base... I plan on buying miatacage and installing it, cheaper parts other than what's required for SM... this "supposedly" will be low cost (if that's applicable to me) for running mid-pack, if possible. We'll see where it goes from there. Hell - I've still got the track car and Eliminator to finish up. I think I need to up the adderall dosage cause it ain't workin'....

Why not just buy an already finished, mid-pack spec miata? It would be faster, cheaper, and ready to race now.

I thought about it - but they'll all have someone else's jizz all over it...

The cheapest '99/00 prepped SM I saw was $15k... I'm hoping/betting I can do better

Yea, I was thinking the same thing.

Gene - It's always cheaper to buy an already finished race car. Well, almost always. Unfortunately I speak from experience.

With me - it's hard as hell to save up for the purchase. Besides, it's always easier to conceal from the wife in smaller portions
Eventually I'll play the "I've had this car for years, whattya talking about?" card

Side note - why am I no longer a supporter? I thought the dues where setup to automatically come out...
Edit - I fixed that

I also wanted to mention that the LEAST expensive '99/00 SM was $15k+ (that I found)... granted, some had engine work done.

Anyway - my focus is to get into it with a great donor and build from there. I truly intend to rock the 104k motor until I decide to further pursue it - or sell.

In the meanwhile - looks what I picked ups yesterday
Very clean CW hardtop and 4.3 torsen ($1200)
It was also very cool to finally meet Ben at DIY Autotune who so graciously kept a 6spd in his garage for over a year for me! You rock Ben!
