FWIW I have a 4.1 sender in my 6 speed with a 3.63 diff and my speedo is perfect with my current tire size. This will probably change with different tires but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Why exactly do you need/want the NB VSS signal? Can't you pull it from the cluster on the NA? I have an NB so I may be talking out my ***

Because I have an NB 3.9 sender, and not an NA sender.....that's the only reason

Hmmm, I have a 4.3 sender, maybe it will be correct with a 3.9 rear end.

BBundy's epic speedometer thread + Jeffbucc's build thread have part numbers and basic descriptions on how to make an NA 5 speed sender work in a NB 6 speed so you can keep the NA cluster.

I know because I bought the parts Jeff posted, then realized I can't use them because reading comprehension fail.

Ah ****, does the NA sensor not directly bolt into the 6 speed?

with the 24t and 4.778 speedo will read optimistic by ~ 4-6 mph at highway speed I estimate. Not too terrible. I think 21T will work nicely with a 3.909. I was using a the 20T with a 3.636.

Cant seem to get a 21 or a 24t from Mazda got them from Chikara they came direct shipped from Maruha in Japan housing, seals, O-rings all assembled.

Damn it, 40 dollars? Too expensive.

Can someone answer the NA speed sender in a 6 speed question? Or do I have to go search or whatever I'm supposed to do.

The pics in my thread are of the first one I made, which I don't like as much. aidandj has the revised version. I've got one for me waiting to be installed. I also put one on my brothers NB. I have ideas for a 3rd version, we will see. I'm on the fence about putting side vents on since mine is parked outside. If I do put side ones on, I'll probably do one more round of changes on the front one as well.

Thunderhill in December is cold, wet, and dark. October and May are pretty much ideal.

Before I do another Thunderhill summer track day I'm putting a cool shirt system in the car.

Time to get out the press.

IIRC several guys have slightly reduced or polished that particular diameter on the axle to facilitate axle removal in the field. Search that one out though, don't take my word for it.

Dammit.

Might be able to fix the threads with a file?

In the meantime, get out a press. I got the ones out of my MSM by using a puller thing, it bolted to the lug nuts and could press on the center of the axle. But that was very difficult.

Pretty sure he's talking about the tapered part of the axle that sortof press-fits into the hub.
