I hear using one as a park brake will blow out brake seals, they generally don't hold line pressure so long.

Bur for burnouts...

I would be putting the ball valve on the rear line so I would just be holding the front brakes. Might need to install an abs switch.

@patsmx5 you ever run one?
2nd gear, no line lock

I'll never install one, don't need it.

**** just realized. Isn't a ball valve in the rear brake line just a brake bias adjuster? Or are there more too those.

A brake limiting valve completely closed will do what you're trying to do.

Do prop valves close completely?

Line lock kits are like, less than $100. Why not just buy one?

Do you not know me? Ball valves are like ~$5 max. Some fittings. Done.

No prop valve I've ever seen or messed with even comes close to "closing all the way", they don't work that way anyway. They aren't an orifice that you control the size of, that would control flow, not pressure. Even the Wilwood valves state max pressure reduction. Most are 57 percent.

I don't think ball valves are rated at a few thousand psi though. Any ball valve for $5 bucks sure isn't.

Can't you do burnouts holding the brakes already? I don't do burnouts, so I don't know, but it seems like it could be done. That would be $free.

Reverse Lock Out Surge Brakes Hydraulic Disc Brake Solenoid Tow Zone 86823 | eBay

Isn't this essentially the same thing, but without the "racer" markup?

Thats how I currently do burnouts. But I like the brake down, flip a switch, brake up, dump clutch.

I've read lots of SS ball valve line lock stories. They all work and are cheap. off-road guys like em.

No, that is for surge brakes. If you don't have that you can't back up without disconnecting the trailer brakes.

Default Community build thread...Aidan rambles on and on...

I don't see why you can't use an off the shelf ball(or whatever) valve as long as it is good for the pressures it will see.
