Went out for an hour drive. Got maybe 5 total really bad misfires. Like tach dropped to 0 and then popped back up. Like an ignition problem. Made an offer of 4 more Toyota coils. I'll have like 10 total. Hopefully that will fix it.

Excellent, prompt, no-nagging-needed dishwashing is a vastly underrated skill that will serve you well in this relationship.

And really, it doesn't take that much time, and when you're done, you can look at all that is before you and say definitively "This, this is what I have accomplished, look upon my works ye mighty and take note, I have done work here."

I mean, seriously, there are few professions that have a more direct work done correlating with feeling of accomplishment than dishwashing. If it ends up taking you 2 hours, that's because there was 2 hours of motherfucking work to be done, amiright? You know I'm right. You knock that **** out and you know how much work you've done. You didn't spend 2 hours arguing with the DBA about whether you could include needed necessary oh-my-god-the-****-will-implode-if-we-don't-do-it maintenance to the disk arrays into the schedule for the upcoming semi-annual maintenance window. Nope, you spent that 2 hours doing unquestionably necessary work.

Edit: some, upon reading this post, might feel I question the value of some of the time I spent at work as an IT guy. I wouldn't want those individuals to ponder this any further. To completely clarify my thoughts on the matter, yes, many of my days were absolute bullshitfests.

3 car pileup in tacoma in traffic. I managed to dodge the last one but clipped it's bumper. Should buff out, I hope.

Got another damn speeding ticket. Was cruising home from Eastern washington in the sorority sled and entering Yakima. 55mph road makes a right turn onto another road that looks exactly the same, with a speed limit sign right after the turn behind some train track signals. Cop was waiting for me a mile down the road. 50 in a 40. God damn end of the month quotas.

We made a quick stop and then headed back to look for the speed limit sign i missed. The cop had already pulled someone else over.

Good news is we spent $26 on fuel for a 615 mile journey. 47mpg at 75mph cruising over a few passes. Pretty sure this ticket means another restriction. But maybe a suspension this time.

Oh man. To me 15 over is much more acceptable than not using your turn signal . Not much revenue in that kind of ticket though.

All of those tickets except 1 were from being inattentive, not consciously trying to speed. I've been working on it. Didn't knowingly go 10 over the whole road trip.

I have a valentine v1, in the miata. Forgot to bring it on this trip.

I had a 55 over in a 55, 27 over in a 25, and 17 over in a 35, and an accident going 55 over in a 45. Expensive, but zero restrictions. Pays to get your early/mid twenties over 10 years ago. Hard to do these days.

Ouch. Yeah. My insurance hurts. My understanding is 3 in an 18 month period is restriction. 4 in 24 is a suspension. My 4th ticket was about 25 months ago so I think I'm ok. There may be some stacking rule or something though.

If they use radar a lot up there, I'd recommend buying a second V1 and keeping it permanently in the other car. I have two -- one for the Miata, one for the Audi. The truck gets the Miata one when it's towing, and doesn't really get driven much otherwise.

You might consider talking to a lawyer about fighting the latest ticket.

I really like the passport 9500ix, the GPS is nice, never any false alarms in areas I drive in normally because it learns them and filters them out. And if we had known speed traps and/or red light cameras it would help on those too. GPS speed readout is nice too. But I think V1 now has some bluetooth to phone integration thing that does something similar.

The judge used to be a lawyer. Their job is to get money into the system. Pick a lawyer that works for the same firm as the judge and pay whatever it takes to get it to go away.

I've got out of more tickets than I can count, just by being courteous to a to the officer. It's all about walking the fine line of kissing *** and being nice, and looking out for the officers safety.

My most recent one was in the Prius believe it or not. 55 in a 30 I think, the sob was hiding behind a sign. When he let me up, the road was really narrow, so I just slowed down to 5 under and drove for a bit, and pulled way off the road where there was a wide shoulder. I quickly put my license on the dash, rolled down the window and held my hands out. This gives them a comfort level so they knowthey won't get shot at. As soon as he walked up, I asked "will this be safe enough for you here?" that let's him know why I did not stop immediately and let's face it, no one wants to stand in the road and dodge traffic. He said "this is fine, thanks" and then "do you know why I pulled you over?" this is where you have to be real careful. Admit fault, but don't admit fault, and never ever say how fast you were going.. He might have clocked you lower. I said "well I may have been going a little fast" perfect answer - don't insult him by playing stupid. He took my license back to his car and when he came back and just said "we've had a lot of complaints about speeding around here, I won't write you a ticket, just please do me a favor and slow it down a bit. We don't want anyone getting hurt around here" I thanked him and he sent me on my way. Also, don't go reaching for anything if you don't have your license out without telling him first. The officer will appreciate it. A blue flag and or a FOP sticker helps too. It doesn't always work but I once got a 85 in a 45 marked down to 60 so I wouldn't have to go to jail, using the same sort of tactics.

I had no chance to talk him out of it. I had my hand on the steering wheel. Told him my wallet was in my back left pocket before I reached for it. Handed him my drivers license. He said thanks, walked to his car, and 3 minutes later came back with an infraction. I've never had a traffic stop go so fast.
