What booster/master do you have right now?

My shopping list was everything brake-related that's different between an ABS NB2 and my non-ABS NB1, and for some reason the NBs got different booster & master when they got ABS.

If you still have your original booster & master setup, what you probably want is the 1" master out of a 929 and the booster from an NB2 ABS car (which is the one that 929 master fits on).

And yes, fabbing hard line is cheaper than shipping the big ones. You can probably modify the stock front-to-rear one to fit the ABS system.

I still have the original. So I don't need the 99 donor one?

I think turbofan might have an NB2 ABS booster.

Looking at Keith's thread, I think the 99 donor is basically the same as what you have now, so no.

Some interesting brake information (tech!) - MX-5 Miata Forum

I can cut brake lines so you at least know the shape to bend them in

Maybe try and pull them. If they are cheap enough it might be cheaper to ship them than to buy new ones. Idk what your junkyard charges.

This!!!

If you are going to go through the trouble of fitting ABS, you deserve the epic pedal this MC provides you, especially with the Wilwood front/sport rear combo.

There are 8 hard lines on an ABS car:

- 2 from master to prop valve. These are irrelevant if you're not going to use that master.
- 2 from prop valve to ABS unit. These are potentially useful
- 1 from ABS unit to driver front. This is useful
- 1 from ABS unit to passenger front. This is useful
- 1 from ABS unit to passenger rear. This is theoretically useful, but it's 8 feet long and basically impossible to remove with the engine in the car.
- 1 from passenger rear to driver rear. Tthis one is identical on all cars, AFAIK.

The prop valve is mounted on a bracket that attaches to the booster. If you're going to use the prop valve but not the booster, you probably want to get that bracket so that you can use the two hard lines that go to the ABS unit.

Ian is a life saver. Monk, listen to the man

Sounds like I want:

- 2 from prop valve to ABS unit. These are potentially useful
- 1 from ABS unit to driver front. This is useful
- 1 from ABS unit to passenger front. This is useful

So I still need to find an NB2 non-sport, or NB2 sport abs booster.

Definitely get the connector with as much wire on it as possible. It's a Bosch connector (at least it is on an NB2, probably similar on an NB1), and I haven't found a source for them.

Master, ABS box... thing, and hard lines. Like a Sir.
I'll have to come back for the rest of the things. Need to go pick the wife up from work.

The bracket is twisting running the outer leading edge of the caliper into the rotor, right? More offset would fix it?

There isn't much room to change the offset. With new pads I believe I only had 0.015-0.020"clearance on either side of the rotor. It took me two tries before I got the offset just right on my first brackets. The offset on the drawings should result in the 22mm mini rotor sitting smack dab in the middle of the caliper.

My work must be blocking pictures. Do you have a picture that shows where it is rubbing?

How did the brakes hold up as far as fading and fee?

I will take better pictures tonight.

Fade showed up a bit. But never as much as before. I need to try it at PIR. Where I know the braking zones. MRLS was all new to me.
