Re: new eBay cast manifold

That looks VERY similar to a Mazda oem turbo manifold, maybe for a 323 GTX? My brain is not connecting the dots, but I swear I've seen that design somewhere before. Its something that does not natively fit a Miata, but its taken some serious design cues from whatever it is I'm thinking of.

I'm going to sit here and bash my brains against google images until I can figure this out.

Check the caliper offset from the spindle mounting surface. The offset should be 10.5mm or 0.413".

I have been trying to attach a picture to show which dimension I am talking about. Something at work must be blocking it.

I am talking about the offset step that is milled into the bracket that locates the spindle mounting surface 10.5mm from the caliper lug mounting surface. I hope that makes sense.

$82 is cheap!

Had to chuckle when I read the description "CNC Machined T-304 Mandrel Bent Stainless Steel Piping And TIG Welded Steel Flanges". That a pretty cool cast TIG welded manifold. AND you instantly gain 10-15HP!!!!

It would be interesting to see how it holds up.

I want to write EBAY item descriptions for some of these people!

Small update.

Gusset metal should be arriving today. 1/8 304 SS. 12"x1.5". $3.50 from online metals. And they are in seattle so I'm getting it in 2 days for $6 shipping.

yank is bringing over an EGT bung that I'm going to stick somewhere.

My main focus now is to prep the car for building a motor. I want flex fuel, EGT, knock sensor, etc. All in the MS being logged and monitored. Then I can learn how to use everything on a $200 motor instead of a $2000 motor. Tires, aero, exhaust etc.

Basically work over everything on the car and get it to the point where I can drop in a built motor and go straight to man boost.

Still trying to exchange my DW200 with @FAB for a DW300. So if anyone wants a DW200 new in box let me know.

Quick reply from FAB and I think I'm on the way to getting a DW300.

Question. I'm swapping in the 01 fuel tank. Do I need the NB2 install kit or the 1.6 install kit?

NB2 is internal regulator right? Are you using a returnless system, isn't that no bueno? Does a 1.6 pump set drop right in a NB2 tank, looks like it might from pictures?

Why nb tank?

Because its slightly bigger.

No monk. I have a full NB2 auction car so I'm good there.

A 99/00 fuel rail will sell here though because its used in VVT swaps, so get that for your personal sale.

I should check. I guess I could just take the whole assembly out and drop it in as long as they were the same length and everything.

Waiting for someone to pop in and explain all. I'll do some searching in the meantime.

Do you plan on trying to put the 1.6 tank lid/hanger assembly on the 1.8 tank or something? Is that even possible? What do you need explained?

NB tank, NB lid/hangar assembly, NB install kit. Did I miss something?

NB tank lid will require push lock fittings where as right now you are using clamps, so keep that in mind. It has virtually the same layout on the top, just remove the internal fixed regulator form the lid/hangar assembly and its done.

you need nothing, I installed my DW300 into laz's tank with an install kit for Richards dead NB2 since I bought it from him. It drops right in.

Success. Sending the DW200 back and buying a DW300 walbro 450. Because someday I want to run ALLOFIT.
