Ummm. Its there? Not on fire. And cost $40.

I switched to new trans oil, and ran a different track that was a little easier on the car. So too many variables to say for sure.

Easy button for sure though.

mmk. Ordered.

I used this **** from Lowes that I read about in some forum post on here.

Was thinking of using more on other places, and was like, I wonder what happens if I hold this to an open flame: **** ignites after a second or two and drops molten fireballs EVERYWHERE. 0/10 would not recommend Reflectix. lol

For the downpipe or the trans?

As long as you maintain the air gap it seems to work pretty well. I can hold my finger on the factory prop valve and master cylinder for a 10 count after coming off track from a 20 minute session, so its doing something.

Thought I would still recommend taking to the time to make a real heat shield.

Use my baller heat shield method. It was ridiculously easy. And should fit with yours.

It's on the transmission tunnel. With adhesive. You know, to keep the flames as close to my legs as possible in the event of spontaneous combustion. My v-band broke too so the downpipe just kind of bounces around down there at the moment. Poor car has had it rough lately. New clamp is on, I just need to get down there and loosen the clamp/reaalign and hope the scary noises I'm hearing go away. Probably time for new stiffer motor mounts anyway. E85 tomorrow.

Oh wait, this isn't my build thread. Back to you:

Jelly of the clutch. Not much more than a new FM1 without a flywheel, and you get ALLTHEREVS. Helluva deal.

I think I should be able to get at least 350 out of my current setup. If not more. People jizz for fm clutches. And i have the lightest 1.8FW you can get.

They are nice clutches, I do love my FM1.

How light is that flywheel?

My RB 1.8 is advertised at 9lbs, but I never measured it.

I like my old ACT XT clutch and FM 9.5 pound aluminum flywheel. As a bonus, it's purple!

As for heat shields, the shiny stainless ones that FM sells work very nicely. License plates aren't really the right answer -- they're thicker than they need to be, not shiny enough, and ideally you want a roof over the turbo as well. No roof on my FM2R shield because the EWG sticks up, and the zip ties on the firewall get significantly more heat damage than they did with the old FM2 one that had a lid.

Shiny makes them reflect radiant heat better, it's not for looks.

I'm lucky. Most of my heat is down low by the frame rail. I really need a heat shield for my steering rack.

Just realized I have 2 pump assemblies. Which means I have 2 stock bulkhead fittings. Need to pull one apart and see if I can take it apart and add it to my current tank. Then I will have ALLOFTHEAMPS.

I ultimately decided against the lightweight flywheel as I read about how much they don't get along with a/c compressors cycling. I still somewhat regret not doing it, as my car overheats with a/c on while idling in traffic anyway :|
