It was sad. Because we have been searching for a GSP forever. I've wanted one for 10+ years. And hailey has one at her parents. And this one seemed to have a bit of hunting experience, but wasn't ridiculously insane like younger GSPs. A little bit of recall training, and probably learning his old calls he would have been awesome.

The lady fostering him tried to come up with ways we could get around their requirements (she really liked us) but the lady running it was a huge bitch. I has the sads still. He was very sweet.

We live on over an acre of property, but its not fenced. As long as you keep an eye on them its fine. I've chased haileys pointer for a few miles before, but he pretty much only stays in their backyard and sprints whenever he can get free.

Still very butthurt.

929 master on 01 booster.

Stupid question but can you measure cylinder bore without taking it apart?

If you can measure the pushrod travel accurately enough (some kind of fixture with a dial indicator?) you could theoretically squirt fluid out of it and then measure the volume of fluid.

The 929 master on the 01 booster is awesome, especially with a master cylinder brace.

is there a significant difference between NA and NB brake boosters? Is one single diaphragm vs dual diaphragm? How does the 929 MC feel?

The 323 GTX community has been doing a similar swap for years with a 929 master cylinder. It required using a booster from a later model Protégé I don’t think anybody got one to work with a stock booster. The 929 master has the same push rod interface as the 2001+ miatas.

The piston in the master cylinder sticks deep in the booster on the 2001+ versions while on the earlier ones the push rod of the booster sticks out and into the piston of the master cylinder. The early master will bolt up to a later booster but it wont work right without a longer rod I don’t think the later master will bolt up to a early booster because there is no way to make the push rod short enough.

No idea, its not installed. Need my abs swap first. *cough* Monk *cough*

The big booster change is NA/NB1 vs NB2. NA is single, NB2 had both single and double. The 929 master is awesome with my f/r Wilwoods.

I have the non-abs sports booster, so it isn't the double ratio one.

But the big difference is that the 929 master doesn't work with the NA/NB1 version. Which is what psyber was probably asking about.

Correct. Keith was speculating that there might be an earlier-gen 1 inch 929 master that would fit, but AFAIK nobody's tried it.

From my research the earlier 929s were 7/8 masters. Which is why the 323 community used the earlier one and protégé booster.

I think that the 1" ones came off the ABS cars. The piston size should be molded in to the case under the reservoir.

Rockauto still says 7/8. This doesn't mean it's true. But still.

I posted a link somewhere else but the abs and non abs are exactly the same for our purposes, one just has an extra fitting.

929 MC will bolt up fine to an NA booster.

Its the fat NB1s they don't play nice with IIRC. Ratios are better on the NB2 non-ABS sport and MSM MCs than with the NA booster though.
