I'll probably end up on the safe side at like 9.5. Because I like to break things. But I want to try something new. The higher compression ratio gives me the ability to make more power on E85, and I can have a safer tune for pump gas.

Mine is either 8.6 or 9:1. I'd still make more power on E85, but on pump it's a good place to be.
Same here. I know I'm screwed with shitty CA91 so 8.6 is my compromise for now. When E85 moves in (and it will) I might go insane and build another shortblock, but for now I'm a realist.

Lol, I meant it cost 200 more for a similar ACT. the 500 ft/lb clutchnet is 420. Goodwin has a 4something ft/lb ACT for 600. I know boosted smurf is running a clutchnet disk, maybe I'll see how his works out. He is going to be running quite a bit more power than me.

Just means I'll have to go full baller and buy 100 octane when I go to thunderhill. Honestly I think this build is going to be at least a year and a half. I have a lot of other things going on, and I'm really happy with how my car is running right now.

Its going to be a lot more research but from what I've read other places 10:1 on pump gas works just fine with good intercooling, fueling, and maybe some water/meth.

There's a difference between "just fine" and "ideal."

Were those BPs?

Also: I believe it's Comp that supplies FM. For turbo, you want ACT, FM2, or maybe a Souf Bend if you're intent on trying something new for reasons.

I'm going with a Clutchnet for my SE, but that's ENTIRELY different goals.

Damn, you're right about comp.

just fine on pump gas, and holy ***** this is awesome on e85 is where I think I want to end up. But when it comes down to it. I wouldn't say no to a set of forged 9:1 pistons for the right deal. But I'm also not shying away from 10:1 if those pop up too.

FM2 is not strong enough for my dreams.

Sean: linky here

Might not be too bad. I have a 4 puck rated to 575ftlbs in the MX6 and besides having a pretty narrow engagement point, it's easy enough to drive.

Blue Miata is getting the ACT rated to 567ftlbs, mostly because i already have the disc laying around and i'm dumb.

It's a man-sized disc, won't work with weak Miata bullshit.

It's not a boost problem. You currently don't have anything you can use this disc with.

Nothing. Yet.

This bolts up to my motor, though.

hornetball tell me more about axle rebuilds. You mentioned finding cv boots on rockauto but I'm not sure exactly what I need. Also need to find a good source of axle nuts.
