Default Turbo, ITBs, and another EVO 3 16G

Well some of you know i got away from the miatas for a wail but have been itching to get another one so i bought this blue 92 NA for 1400.

I got it knowing it needed a new HG but once i fixed that i found that i had 2 down cylinders. So i pulled the motor out and ripped her apart. The block crank and head are fine just needs a refreshing. So ordered everything up to refresh up the motor.

Then i ended up picking up a T3 ramhorn ARTech manifold, some GSXR 750 SRAD throttle bodies, MS1 that's getting MS2 conversion, DSM 450cc injectors with resistor box, EVO 3 16G, and kinugawa turbo turbine T3 housing & anti surge compressor housing for the EVO 3 16G.

Will get photos once everything come as most of it is in the mail.

Going to be running 10psi for now until i pick up another motor to do a full build on from top to bottom.

Looks like it should be a bichin setup.
evo3 16g is a great turbo. But I wonder: after paying for the turbo and both housings, aren't you into it for basically what a 2871 would cost you? And aren't you basically putting big housings onto relatively small wheels which may make it fairly slow spooling?

That Kinugawa housing is an 8cm^2 unit and is gonna be laggy as **** on a 1.6. My stock 7cm housing doesn't wake up til 4K. Should flow like a mofucker up top though

If i had to pay full price for the turbo then yes, i got my turbo for 350 new and the 2 housings ended up being 240. So $600 for the whole thing said and done.

What kinda manifold are you using and remember im planning on going all out on the motor in a year.
From what i have found the 8cm is not much bigger then what most people run seeing as if you convert it to an A/R its .57 and the 7cm is .49.

6 cm^2 = 0.41 A/R
7 cm^2 = 0.49 A/R
8 cm^2 = 0.57 A/R
9 cm^2 = 0.65 A/R
10 cm^2 = 0.73 A/R

Its pretty big any way you look at it. I wouldn't expect it to really wake up til about 5k on a 1.6. Just my .02. But seeing the rest of your setup I'm guessing that's not a problem.

Once i get the other motor done this setup will really shine. Going to be getting the head ported and polished by headway performance along with a set of kelford cams. Going to go for a 8000rpm redline.

Why are you trying to complicate your setup with itb's? Just make another intake manifold like you did with the old car.

The build is mostly for fun and show, until i get another motor and build the **** out of it and find a 6 speed and 1.8 diff swap.

Might even build a nice setup dial it in and sell it and drive it stock who knows. Its mostly just to keep me busy and mentally happy lol.

I was going to point out how FAIL that is, but realized I did almost the same thing with my previous miata

Okay so here is whats done so far and what has happen. I ended up selling the 16g to some one i know and got this nice GT3076R for nothing and i mean nothing. Motor is all stock until next winter. I picked up a water to air intercooler setup and also got all the piping to build my intake manifold. Im going to ditch the MS1 i got for a DIYPNP, also planning on building a 3" downpipe with a cutout and retain stock cat back.

That's way too sharp. Can you please make it a little more blurry?
