I'm going to say yes to all three points as things to do. Also make sure the Wastegate flapper has a little touch of preload holding it tightly closed.

2. Im using waste gate pressure only. So if i ad my ebc and set it to 100% ( ie. let it bleed air out of the signal line) until 3k or so surely that will hold the waste gate fully closed a bit longer?

3. Also any thoughts on whether adding fuel to the cells just before initial spool will help? Theory being denser exhaust gases to encourage turbine to spin faster?

Gotta be worth a few hundred rpm surely!!
Yes, doing all 3 of those should definitely make a big change.

I've been working on this for the last few days.

There are a few issues.

1. i have a missfire causing lean afrs at 5k causing det. not good. this is more than likely the spark gap. no idea what its set to but it looks wide. i'll gap them asap

2. my injectors are struggling at full boost. i have some logs which i will add below.

3. i think in order for me to really get the most out if this turbo i need to run MOAR BOOST. i'll come back to this shortly.

1... as you can see here in this screenshot i have a miss fire

The screenshot above is using waste gate pressure only.

this is the timing map

It's conservative as i was trying to stop the engine detonating

here's target AFR

resulting fuel map

in order to try and get the turbo to spool up faster i added a boost control solenoid. im using this boost map but so far it's not made a difference. here's the boost map and below that is the screen shot from a log. same road and also third gear.

you can see the injector duty cycle dip every so often which to me indicates a miss fire. correct?

you can also see my injectors have run out of head room.(unless ive made a mistake and 'dutycycle1'' isn't injector duty?

heres that log again with boost duty

think i can push that duty up a bit and hold the waste gate longer?

the way i see it now is i have two options

Option A:

Go back to the t25 and drive it with 200RWHP and enjoy it the way it is.

Option B:

Replace the rods with these link

Run OEM pistons and rings

ev15 850cc ID Injectors

ACL Bearings

MOAR BOOST

any thoughts?

Anything above 85 duty cycle is pretty much open all of the time.
Over 200kpa on a 2870 is about 250 whp, iirc. You may already be over the edge of what your bottom end can take with your stock 1.6. You need to be around 11.2 afr instead of 11.7 if you are pushing it that hard.

I would get FIC or ID's before I bought Five-0's ... They aren't too far off on price either

What are the adaptors they give you the option for? are they not PNP? I know they explain but they dont explain it very well. why use different plugs?

One end plugs into the stock harness and the other goes to the injector. I guess they make all the injectors connectors uniform? I opted to get the pnp adapters for mine

This is mine. At least I don't think I've changed it since this was uploaded.

I dont blame you... the connectors aren't needed just make it easier to swap back & forth lol

Cheers Steve! i think i'll lower boost on my way home from work (Night shift so it's 2 am here. No ''5-0'' to bother me ) and make sure im not detonating then if i am i'l drop some timing after 180kpa.

it's all fun and games until you run out of duty cycle and have to pay dollar dollar for bigger ones.

oh the joys of being a car addict.

What do you think the noisy duty cycle really is? Seems like a math error in the log to me, as, in theory, this info is what MS is telling the injectors to do, and why would it be telling them that?

I wonder if it wound be better to present pulse width in mS rather than duty cycle.

Does this help at all?

I've attached the log also

It's only started doing this since i installed the bigger turbo. hence why i think plugs are the culprit

Gap the plugs to .028 inch and you should be fine unless the coil is getting weak.

I think i had my boost cut set too low and it was fuel only cut. changed to spark and fuel now and lowered boost. EBC is getting better and better and im spooling alot earlier now. which is nice

some recent pics

realised i hadn't put up any hi res shots for ages excuse the cable ties and ghetto air filter.. also waiting on new manifold nuts. m10x1.5 is hard to find with a 14mm hex!

Nice man. Looking way better already.
Also looks like you're making some decent power with it (I'd guess somewhere in the 240-260 range)

Looks like she has some good topend. The low end spool appears to be lacking a bit, but it sounds like you have been able to improve that a bit.
