Who would re-design the product? A V-band flange is a pretty standard part. One you buy from vibrant should be basically identical to one you buy from Tial or silicone intakes or treadstone or whomever.

It's just the size of the part, and there's no real structural rigidity. I'm pretty sure I've read posts from Abe and Tim about how you need to go, as said, slowly to avoid warping.

I do think that I also read that Abe clamps them together to help prevent it, might wanna look into that.

That's sort of what I'm saying. This part would not have made it this far without a re-design if there was not a way of using it without warping it.

Also - I didn't weld mine while it was clamped because I welded them from the inside but I imagine that would help the warping.

Why did you weld from the inside if you don't mind us asking?

If you weld from the outside there is a bigger gap and it requires more filler. The inside is a perfeclty flush so it leaves a great surface for a clean weld.

Tacking on a heat shield by the diff, if there's room, will save that axle seal.

Looook what I picked up….

Just doing some test fitting for now but this bish is sexy.

It also weighs like 4LBS.

I finished welding my exhaust tip on.. I’ve also got some video clips for you guys.

Came out really nice though.

Also working on a custom battery box for my new XS power battery.

Are you happy with the fit and finish? How long did it take for them to get it to you?

I just ordered one last week.

Whenever I see pictures like the one of your welds and the one of the little battery box, I feel the same way that I do when I see someone post a really nice photograph they took and then spent time processing:

I am at first envious and think that I would like to be able to do that. But then I realize I am not willing or able to commit the time and resources to make it happen.

In other words, nice job.

Looks good man, you had really even heat as you made your pass, though you could probably do with a little less amperage. Did you fuse it? Or is that with filler?

Quick latches, you baller *** mother ******. I was going to hold my air dam on until I realized I'd be spending more money on quick latches for it than I did on the entire rest of the splitter. I bought butterfly dzus fasteners instead.

I used them on my hood. They were great until some dick hole at a meet popped them and let me drive off like that. The subsequent drive home with a bent hood trying to pull them out of the fender skirts like a parachute. Turns out I'm too trusting a person, and strangers really will walk up and touch your car.

Have you weighed your new battery setup vs. the OEM stuff? I ask because I had an Odyssey PC680(small AGM battery) laying around from a previous car and found it to be within one pound of the OEM battery.

Oh, and those welds.

Probably the same weight maybe a pound or two less.. I'm not doing this for weight though, if anything I could use some weight above the rear wheels. But I need something more reliable, high power fans, increased amperage spark system.. Looking for reliability.
