Default Taxi - Supermiata project car

We are replacing Taxi's grotty NA6 tub with a much nicer NB2 tub. It will be transformed from the rough edged, uncomfortable and loud track rat to a more refined and comfortable track capable car. The focus is to retain full street comfort and civility while packing in as much track performance as possible. The new donor is a very clean black '03 Sport with great A/C and 102k on the odo. We're swapping in the OEM cruise control. We'll start a separate thread for the Teves ABS conversion.

What's an AZ-6 tranmission?

Prepped the car for vinyl wrap. Touge run fron lip and Carbon Miata trunk with integral ducktail. 15x8/ 205 here but it'll run on 9's when done.

It's on Illumina's, FM springs and FM sway bars (F&R) which are for sale. $500 for everything including top mounts, fully assembled. $60 shipping to lower 48. (Sold)

Would love to hear feedback and see some more details on that Teves ABS install. Ready to pitch the ABS in my NA for something more modern.

Car looks like the ultimate dual duty ripper.

Donor car is a beauty. 175 horse ponies at the wheels will sound pretty good out of that RB header!

At Aerowerkz in Walnut, CA. I guess the front bumper skin was a lot worse than I thought. Also, I have low standards. Philip was doing a ceramic coat on a La Ferrari a few weeks ago.

That doesn't look like the same orange wrap as your Mustang.... disappointing .

Emilio, always impressed with your builds and this is no different.

Just for my own curiousity, clearly you have a decent budget in building the BP engine for track duty. What made your decision to go this route over the K-series like Deviate? How will this car differ from Deviate in its intended purpose?

Thanks!

BP is easier and more relevant to the average Miata owner. Also reflects our product line.

Not Nardo gray paint, but that was our target when choosing this vinyl. Really amped to see it done.

Nardo Grey definitely inspired the choice. I’m not sure Avery is allowed to call it “Nardo”.

Before the pics get too far out of order, here’s a shot of the trunk lid and the pre-yellowfication.
