I forgot - this is some of the metal from one side before i ran out of cut-off wheels. I ended up cutting every bit of metal i could get to. Even cut off the metal (bright orange/red bit) that goes around the trunk.

And yes i will have some small supports.

I will be making a fastback - copying the coupe shape. That will be done much later.

A few people don't like the look of it, but really i didn't build it for style. And i think it will look good when it is all together. It was the easiest and quickest design i could come up with at the time. I don't think i will be getting much done for a while now as i am moving house and need to build a garage at the new house. Also i don't have any money left. I just need to pay for the motec $3000, the tuning $1000, finish the c.f body and aero about $2000, misc bits $2000. The motor is pretty much done now, so it will be waiting for me to save up to pay for the computer and tuning and then i can throw it in the car.

This goes against the Miataturbo NORM on so many levels.

MOTEC is a great system... but really worth 4k to make your injectors squirt and your spark plugs spark?

It does a lot more than that. It will do the gps data logging, accelerometer, variable traction control, it has inputs to motor everything i need. It will have different torque in different gears, so i don't blow up the gearbox. Etc, etc.

What I've noticed is most people in europe/australia/etc don't **** around with cheap **** or disgusting buckets of half assed failaids that some on here strive to put together.

They get the real deal, usually the best parts, and their builds are always jaw dropping. They don't skimp, they don't budget, they just blow insane amounts of money on cars or don't mod them at all.

It is very badass and makes for very impressive project threads

I don't know if you had already mentioned, but how much power are you trying to achieve?

It will have about 270 - 300rwhp untill i save up the money to put a set of dog gears in it. The motor is built to take big boost, but it is limited to the gearbox strength. The old 1.6 had about 200rwhp. Doesn't sound like much more, but i am sure it will be noticed. If i get bored we can always put more power in it and see how long the turbo 6 speed lasts.

Autronic is from Australia LOL.

Motec is sick tho. If you need the functions and will use them (which it sounds like you WILL) then its worth the $

I made the trunk mould, pics are trunk prepped, gelcoated, laminated, and trimmed and ready for use.

The othe 2 pics are the c.f trunk with a frame made from corecell and laminated some c.f over it to stiffen it up.

I have started working on the door, i decided to make it flat on the inside. Just need to sand all around the sides and give it a couple of coats of hi-fill primer, sand it and it will be ready to mould.

Trunk, still needs trimming and i have to wash off the pva.

I weighed it too - It is 2.86lb's with the internal frame on, and it still needs trimming around the edges..... So i would think finished weight would be 2.5 lb's. And it is amazingly stiff now, it is almost imposiible to twist it, and definately can not bend it.

The carbon looks good but the angle of the pics is making it hard for me to tell if it is stock or duck tailed or whatever they call it.
