Been a while, but finally came up with a few more things I wanna give a whirl....Had to come up with some cheap projects since I'm picking up one of those carbon hardtops and some Tuckin99 N2's ...

1) NACA Duct for the headlight lid / Air box

2) Hood Louvers (Just drivers side & moved in closer to hump in hood so its over the exhaust manifold)

Well, the NACA duct came in today so figured I'd start mocking up the headlight lid...Heres a few pictures of how I decided to attack it. I plan to attach the duct from underneath the lid with some epoxy, and then frenchy it in with some bondo....It's pretty straight forward, the only thing I am trying to decide is if I want to paint the whole deal white, or if I want to paint the the duct black and the rest of the lid white....opinions?

that's gonna be killer. Would a shorter filter fit better. It just looks a little long and might block the opening from the pic. Or is it just the way it is situated?

I vote white lid with black duct.

Didn't have **** better to do, so I just took a deep breath and started to drill and cut ...I'm lovin it so far! I'm a pic *****, so here are a few of the many that I snapped through the proccess:

1-8.jpg?t=1257028341

2-8.jpg?t=1257028374

3-7.jpg?t=1257028399

Cuz I got it yo...
4-6.jpg?t=1257028426

6-6.jpg?t=1257028477

7-4.jpg?t=1257028507

8-4.jpg?t=1257028537

9-4.jpg?t=1257028561

Need to figure out what I'm doing with this drip tray....keep it, modify it so it allows more air circulation, do without it....without it I would have to modify how this panel is secured. Right now, the hood is basically sandwiched between the drip tray and the hood vents.

Nice work dude!

The vents fit right in, cant really even tell they are there in the pics. But I bet in person you can make them out better. Are they gloss like the stripe or still flat? Hard to tell.

Thanks! Right now the hood louvers are in primer, and the naca duct is just black plastic...I think I'm going to paint the whole headlight lid, duct included white. The hood louvers will be the same gloss black like the stripe.

I was looking at a few styles of hood louvers and went with this style since I could get it to stay within the stripe....that way it'll be more subtle. The others I was looking at would have hung outside of the striped area....also, the gtp louvers really have a "miata" type shape to them, if thats possible The front of the louver panel has a similar curve to the headlight lid and it just kinda looks right on the hood..

Figured I'd throw up a pic of another project....no its not miata related, but car related non the less....I'm makin a tire rack and these are going to be the end "Finishing" Panels. Already have plenty of miata support in the garage so I needed to add some .:R32 lovin, lol. The logo is punched out and the triangular panels at the top will be painted red and will be attached from behind....the rest of the rack will be painted with the bedliner **** or krinkle paint...I'll throw up some pictures of the actual pieces when I have a chance to upload them off my phone...

O yea, rack is being made from 1 x 1 x .125 sq tubing.

Well the tire rack is almost done...here are some pics to show the progress. Now I just need to take it down and paint it with some of black krinkle coat paint or the spray on bedliner...The interior panels I had powdercoated red at work already...

Everytime I see this page I think about building a CNC machine but then the Mrs tells me off and I come back to earth. Loving ya work man my I ask for the files for you designs to help others replicate or perhaps higher resolution picture so we can read the measurements ourselves?
