There should be a 1.6 cover plate, 94-00, cover plate, and then a VVT cover plate. I think you can buy them all new from Mazda for reasonably cheap.

Ok,

B61P10510 - 1.6, 94-97, 99-00, and MSM (does not fit 98 models FYI!)
COVER UPPER, TIMING CHAIN. OIL PAN & TIMING COVER for 1997 Mazda Miata. #B61P10510
BP6D10511 - 01-05 VVT
COVER (UP.), TIMING CHAIN. OIL PAN & TIMING COVER for 2005 Mazda Miata. #BP6D10511

So this means I can use the one from my 1.6 and I don't need one at all. I need to stop taking vlads advice. Thank you for letting us borrow your build thread Chris, lol.

I have never actually checked that the 1.6 one fits on a 1.8, but it does appear so according to those part lists. It does not surprises me that it is the same piece though.

Did you shift the location of the radiator at all or just mount it on a custom bracket?

Nope, the top is still using the stock mounting location, and i simply added the additional bracket at the bottom to stabilize it.

Intercooler complete. Extremely happy with the outcome! At this point I am not too concerned with hood clearance, I am going to be swapping out my compressor housing for the 90* elbow housing around mid jan, the hood likely wont even be on by that time anyway so at that time i will sort clearance out.

If my calculations are correct, I am approx $2k away from startup,
Haltech elite1500/ with PNP harness
MR Shifter assembly
Racepak Iq3
Fluids.
Vac lines
Im likely forgetting something, but for the most part thats everything left before i can fire up!!

I have an AEM EMS4 I am trying to sell, I would be willing to make you a good deal on it, realistically I simply want it gone to put money towards the Haltech. If you are interested send me a PM and we can work something out.

Yay! Been slacking lately, recently got my AEM wideband o2 controller and sensor in the mail, as well as my Haltech elite 1500. Boomslang harness will be here next Tuesday, and im awaiting my new 90* compressor housing as well which should be here sometime soon, apparently their not regularly stocked items.
