I understand what you are all saying, but you have the wrong idea of how this is going to turn out. I am about 25% done in the last picture there. If I wasn't lazy I would pull up paint and show you all what the end product will look like. I wasn't going to work on this thing today but now I'm a bit more motivated so I can give you guys a better idea on what it will look like and why I think it will work. So please just bare with me until it is a bit closer to a finished product.

Hopefully this shows the basic idea here, this is really only the beginning. There should be no place for air to go besides the intercooler and radiator, when I'm done all other openings will be blocked off. I had a "bathroom emergency" and live 10 minutes from there so I didn't get as far as I wanted. I was forced to take this picture with my iphone as I fumbled with my keys so it's kind of a shitty picture.
I guess my only real worry is the fact that it is a 7 and not a <. Although I have seen a few setups on here similar to: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l3.../Photo0326.jpg with "claims" of them working. IMO that picture is much worse of setup than mine since the radiator and intercooler are almost parallel with tons of gaps for air to bypass both. Mine will be fully sealed.
So with out further delay...
The reason I thought this would be a good way to do it was my impression that the area that is open after the scoop covering the IC was a low pressure area and would suck out the air, encouraging it to flow through the IC from the bottom. Plz tell me this may work and I'm not completely retarded lol.

much better, im sure that leading edge creates a low pressure zone behind it. But why not slightly angle the front of the IC up? like even 5°?
also, did you think about moving the oil cooler back into the mouth a little, with maybe some walls around it that reach forward? Think about if you were to hold the oil cooler out the driver side window...I'm sure there wouldn't be too much flow through it and more around it, but it you say added some sort of velocity stack/mouth type thing in front of it, it would scavenge air and force air through the core much better than with nothing at all.
so like |____| instead of this _____ where the flat horizontal line is the top view of the core face.

Okay so I wasn't really happy with how the reverse scoop thing (official name?) was fitting, and since I wanted to follow Braineack's advice and at least tilt the IC a bit, so I decided to scrap it and start over... this is what came of it:
First to raise the front of the intercooler... easy enough:
As you can see there is a very very slight angle now. But the rear of the intercooler was dropped an inch, and the front raised about 2 inches which is a pretty good improvement imo.
The new cover:
With the hood closed, makes me wish I had done the cuts a bit differently, but I'm confident I can fix it and make it look good:
Just a disclaimer: This is not finished yet, there are still tons of things to be done.

hmm...good luck.
For a race car I think you could easily make it look good, since it's s street car you're going to have to do some impressive work to make it clean looking. I like the aggressiveness of it though, kudos for doing something different.
Tear off those baby teeth and bumper supports, you won't be able to get the black bumper liner in anyways, right?

Update: This will be the ugliest 300whp car on this forum. **** I need a proper workspace to use real tools. I've never really been a exterior looks kind of person anyways. So as long as it ends up functional it can look like **** for all I care. It's bad though. I'll probably slowly distracting everyone with the harness mods and engine build from now on lol.

i think that you should just go for the conventional FMIC setup and get a new hood/bumper.
you wont have any issues with that and long track sessions and it will be much cleaner than whatever that is....sorry.

No need to apologize. I am going to finish it and see how it looks/works. I could take the easy route and not try and learn anything. Sounds boring to me. If it turns out bad I'll learn from it and try again.

I know there has been a lack of progress... but there is a lot of not so exciting stuff getting knocked out... like the harness mods. Got these beauties in from DIYAutotune:
2 Bulkhead connectors will allow my harness to smoothly pass through the firewall. And 3 6 wire connectors will keep the interior of the car clean. Still need some 3-4-5 plug connectors for the engine bay, but won't be using those until I start to test fit the harness with the new engine...
ETA of late Fall for first start up.
