Who has a Quaife gear box? From where, and how much? Don't see it on FM's site anymore.

I highly doubt even a 6sp will hold up very long with 600+ or whatever he will make.

No quaife or 949 in there yet. That was just a second gear pull so the real comparison will be in my 1:1 gear. It's still raining and snowing and slushing here.

No quaife. Just a 6 speed. And now a mazdaspeed tranny. I think I will put in a tranny cooler.

How are you able to push so much boost on pump? Everyone is telling me even with a built motor I probably will have a hard time breaking 300 whp.... seems like with a good flowing head and forged bottom I could push more than that.

Bigger turbo, not working as hard...less heat.

I've seen 300rwhp be made at 15psi and a stock motor...

BTW I did see some knock last night over 32psi. No surprises there. Gotta spray my meth.

Regarding tuning, I'm going to follow the Evo crowd. They have done a huge shitton of R&D on making power out of a four cylinder. That recipe means more boost, very little timing at high boost, very conservative AFR. Going to target 11:1 gas AFR over 15psi. Will ramp up to 10pct meth at 15psi and up to 20pct meth at 40psi. That will drag the gauge AFR down to 10:1 @ 15psi and 9:1 @ 40psi. That will cost a lot of power and potentially cause spark wet out but it would theoretically be very safe since I would be at 11:1 on pump if the meth system fails. We will have to see if it works. If not, I'll target 10.5:1 gauge AFR with meth, use the WI fuel trim table to take out fuel, and rely on the aquamist failsafes.

Opinions?
