Awesome! Just waiting on plates now? Which BAR place did you go to?

On Friday I finally got my SPCNS certificate of sequence so I can schedule my appt with the the SMOG ref.

Though EO2k and I pulled the motor and transmission out of it yesterday, so hopefully my appt. wont be too soon.

Wow, those headlights look huge.

What head is in the '95? I could be convinced to buy a new one...

Yeah, it's why my left turn signal blinks fast and then overheats and the right one doesn't. I think digital senders solve the problem. (Or you could stop putting the wrong resistance bulbs in stuff )

That's the earlier head, BP05 I think? Hi Pat! Welcome to the madness

Hey, it worked just fine when I sold it. Then Gesso went all crazy with the LEDs and things.

Well, crappy head or not, if you want one to get it on the street and can make it work I don't technically need one until the end of January. Plus then I'd have a reason to make sure it's actually in good shape.

And it's dangerous to assume anything on this car actually came with the car, as you and Geoff seem to play Legos with them.

Does the 4W intake cam gear with the timing nubs work with the 05 intake cam/head? Gesso is still on stock ECU and sensors so it needs to be stock 4W signals. I've got a spare valve cover, but he would need to figure out intake manifold, TB, IACV and probably fuel rail. I know he has 4W injectors. Also not sure if the 4W ECU would play nice with the 05 head and intake with regards to flow volumes. Gesso obviously needs more MS3

Pat on the other hand... his motor has sees some things. Gesso tells me he just bought a fancy new compression tester.

I'm pretty sure the 6D or 4W manifold will not fit a BP05 head. Besides, he's got my entire 4W manifold/injector/fuel rail/throttle body assembly sitting in his garage as of Saturday.

I've got a couple feelers out for heads, but nothing is really coming together at this point. I actually wanted a spare 4W or MSM head for myself. My intent was to let Gesso put my head on the shortblock he just built, but now I need the head and have been unable to secure a spare.

If it comes right down to it, we can pull the entire motor out of my car and stick it in the Exo for the BAR appointment. I'm going to be down for a couple months as it is, and I don't need to drive the Miata in the rain. BecauseSubaru.

Offer is there, just let me know

Unmolested? Or is this the head that was on the shortblock Gesso picked up? I need one that is pretty much untouched but useable. If Gesso is not interested, I may shoot you a PM.

Default Back at it!

I went to Thunderhill in December with Pat and my girlfriend. Due to the predicted rain we took my girlfriends '06 civic Si. It was actually pretty fun, but the fact that it's her daily driver means I didn't push "too" hard. She had a great time and we're signed up to do Laguna Seca on the 31st!

But this time she(me too!) wants to drive the Exocet, so it's time to get workin!

At some point (Nov?) I extended the Fender mounts to work with the 6uls, but it seems I miss measured and they work with my konigs but not the 6uls. I'll have to find pictures of those at some point.

I ended up picking up Larry's old 4W head and swapping with EO2k for his old head.

Pat and Gordon helped me finish bolting the block together last weekend. ARP head studs (torqued to factory specs, not that crazy ARP spec), 94-00 factory head gasket(reroute eventually), reused the oil pump that came with the motor, new front main seal.

Default Steering rack mount fixing!

Tonight I rewelded the broken steering rack mounts from M@MRLS in september (been a long time since I've driven the car).

BEFORE:

Passenger side. Note Mr. Bundys life saving bolt! It is now part of the car

Different angle.

Grind out the old!

And weld!

Passenger side.

Drivers side.

I'm a bit out of practice welding but I think it came out well.

I also put in the rear main, flywheel/clutch, bolted up my old six speed, and attached the starter tonight.

I'd be happy to weld you some aluminum intake pipping if you want. Also I need to get you back your engine assembly tools!

Mild with the TIG? Looks good! A damn sight better than it was.

What are you missing other than the water pump pulley? Email me a list and I'll send you a box of parts so you don't miss out on the 31st.
