Its funny to me the different reactions and different people each car draws to itself:
Miata - all little kids. many girls and women. some men.
Main comments: what is that? that's SOO CUTE! What a toy-like little car.
Corvette - middle aged men.
Main comments: oooh, that there is one nice vette mister, I used to have one/have one/know someone that has one/always wanted one. I bet you get all the girls in that thing eh?
With my 08 Subaru Forester XT Sport: it was all guys my age (20-35) telling me how its super sexy and amazing and how they've never seen anything like it before.

Not bad. I always hated the wheel gap on mine but never got around to lowering on stock bolts. Also, slushbox makes me sad. :( You don't live in L.A., do you? I can almost forgive a slushbox and high ride height out there given the legendary traffic and crap roads.
Then again, you aren't exactly missing out on a jewel of a gearbox by skipping the rock-crusher T56.

Thanks gayz
I've wanted a 'vette for the past few years, just to see what the hype is all about, and happened to come up on this one randomly, so I didn't really get to pick if it was manual or auto or color or whatever. I just bought it lol.
I like it though.
Driving to work and just normal driving the auto is great.
Spirited driving the auto is definitely a buzz kill, but whatever. That's why I still have my miata with its uber close ratio 6sp and torsen rear.
I'm planning to really start progress on the miata soon.

Well I want to actually connect and run the MS3x that's installed in it lol
Also the wideband. Then the ID1000's. Then tuning both on pump and e85, just naturally aspirated to get a rock solid idle, cruise, and just work out all the quirks that come along with an EMS.
In the mean time I really need to finish building the spare engine. got literally everything just sitting in a big pile waiting to come together.

Summary of the past hour:
installed wideband. went in without a hitch.
wired in gm ait. also went in great.
routed vacuum line. went great.
connected megasquirt. everything went smooth as butter.
AND DEN
Nothing.
Well, not exactly nothing. More like a short. All sensors are pegged at max, no matter what. the only variable here is the MS, the car is otherwise stock, so nothing to really troubleshoot other than the ms itself.
Pretty bummed out. Hopefully its just a simple grounding issue and he can fix it fast so I can haz this thing running next week. Back in the box it goes and to the post office.
PS: oh and because I have the best luck in the world, the vette happens to be at the paint shop for some touch ups and polishing. oh and instead of installing the wideband into the rear bung I installed it into the front, so un-installing it is harder and more time consuming. and I'm lazy. so both my "street cars" are down.
I'm gonna try to borrow the in-laws corolla and learn a valuable lesson from all of this. whatever that lesson is lulz
