Ok so with exhaust everything I have read has been bigger is better. And the 3" vs 2.5" tests show that very obviously.

What about 3 to 3.5". I live near columbia mandrel bending and they have these first come first serve "B-stock" boxes. Slightly misformed bends. Its like $50 for a 25lb box of random bends. Plan was to pick one of these up and throw something together.

So price will be the same 3" to 3.5" but will I actually see a difference? I see different results wherever I go. And I don't trust 90% of the "tests" out there.

My understanding is that at the 300-ish rwhp level, you're well into the diminishing returns part of the curve by going from a 3" exhaust to 3.5". Since the 3.5" exhaust will be heavier and more of a PITA to fit, nobody bothers.

Do some back pressure measurements and find out.

In my case, I saw < 2 psi of back pressure behind turbine outlet when I had the test pipe installed, using an FM 3" exhaust with a non-ideal right angle in the muffler. That's at around 340 to the wheels (and would probably be 20hp higher if my motor wasn't excessively pingy and I could ALLOFIT on the timing at 24 psi).

What I got from it-

less than 300whp, no gains
between 300 and 500whp, minor to moderate gains which were negated by a lager, matching diameter DP
500whp, allofthegains

Only in my thread. We wouldn't want it to get out of control or something.

Ebay v-band guy sent me his phone number and said I can return the v-bands no problem. Probably going to wait for a box of 3.5" b-stock to pop up and jump on it.

Don't want to build an exhaust twice. Why not build allofit.

I plan to still buy through ebay. Just easier to communicate.

Just so you know, that's an incredibly dick move.

Ebay doesn't care why you return stuff, all they care about was a return. It will put a mark on the seller's account, and if it gets too many he will go "below average" seller standard which costs a lot of money in fees.

You messed up, right, ordered 3" knowing it's what you wanted at the time?

Send it back without ebay knowing would be the right thing to do, sounds like the guy is doing you a favor and you're about to give him the finger.

.
Never heard of this. News to me.

I have mis-ordered many things and haven't had issues returning them.

Thanks for the heads up.
