Lol nope. Different forum members manifold. I will start mine after this. Or maybe after lars'.
This is 304ss, mine will be 321 schedule 40.
It's real duct tape. It's gonna hold real good.

No disrespect intended, I do appreciate how much work goes into these manifolds. Grinding all the pieces to fit perfectly, not to mention cutting the sch 40.
I remember watching Lars make the first MK Turbo run, and saying glad you are doing all that work.
This is why I picked up my extra manifold when it showed up in my local Craigslist.
Nice job, it is fun to watch you build these things.

I built that log for a friend. Probably have 3 hours into it already. Another 1-2 at least. And it's mild steel so no backpurging. I've blow through half of my backpurge bottle just on practice and what I've done on that one manifold so far.
Easily $100 in gas total.

Yeah you really gotta love doing it to do this type of stuff. And be able to make them fast and in large quantities to recoup cost.
Back in 2008 when I built my 1st log I was like "5-6 hours at least, and at least 100 in welding supplies, not to mention 150 in flanges/elbows, and I'm $100-150 away from the cost of a brand new cast log?"
It starts to make sense when you're doing balleur tubey octopus manifolds, or using exotic materials, but even still not as much of a money maker as it seems.
Of course I also value my time. Some people don't.

I didnt think the manifold I made was all that hard. Of course I made what I now see as obvious errors, like trying to do all the weld beads with a single pass, not deeply beveling the joints, not doing the first joint at the merg as a full weld first and then doing all the runners complete before doing the final weld at the collector, then the flange, etc.
