What would you do about this?
VVT engine, RB NA exhaust, OEM Mazda cat (for fitment purposes)
Hits the diff:

Hangers rub the sway bar and don't line-up with the body-hangers:

Rubs the bumper:

I bolted the cat, the midpipe, then used all the strength I had to get the v-band connection to line up. I had a similar problem on my daily, made the mid-pipe 2" longer, and it fits on both cars now.

when you unbolt the rear section from mid, does the muffler hang okay?

"Okay" as in it won't hit anything but will still probably melt the bumper. The hangers are a little tweaked, but it's livable.

Is that an NB "cat-back"?

It's my understanding, do to the differences in mounting angles on the headers up front, you either need to use all NA exhaust parts, or all NB exhaust parts.

I believe it's NA. That's what I ordered at least.

Ahh ok, just throwing it out there. For some reason I was thinking your car was an NB.

It almost looks like it's short somewhere, cause the rubber hanger is touching the sway bar, and it should be straight downish. If it was, it looks like you'd have enough room. What's the story on your cat/test pipe?

Cat is OEM. It will be replaced with a resonated pipe when I get fitment figured-out.

Un bolt it and throw a small piece of ply wood or something I between the flanges, see if it solves your issues.

Next week.

I wired-up everything aside from the tach and the oil temp sender and I still have to run the new speedo-cable, then the car can go on the ground.

Makes perfect sense to me, if you really love racing, the addiction is worse than meth.

It's not really about this car anymore, it's about the next one (PTE)

Remaining tasks:
  1. Get valve cover welded and bolted on
  2. Get water pump inlet welded and bolted
  3. Purchase 99 lower rad hose
  4. Plug in Greek computer
  5. Corner balance
  6. Align
  7. Tune
  8. Buy SM6s and mount them
  9. Floss
  10. Worship Satan, prince of immortal darkness
Today I finished all wiring, put the radiator in, made a mount and installed cruise control, wired new tach/G2X wires. This weekend I'm putting the car on the ground and cleaning the garage so I can build ducting for ShaneM's ****-heap.
