What should I do?

The machine shop called and said the intake valves only pull like 5psi of vacuum and immediately drop. This could be from extreme carbon build-up(bottom end looks very furry) or it could need a valve job for $285 with surfacing. Should I gut the 99 head with the SS valves and Supertech springs and swap that **** over for an additional $100 in lash-labor? Does anyone want to buy that 2-day old head for the cost of the valvetrain +$200 or so ($800)?

What would you do?

I can't ******* win these days. Is it possible for me to buy an engine that doesn't need a rebuild? I'm like $300 away from a built VVT engine now, lol.

I'm sure you can find a nice 1.6 for that $300.

You could just take them out, clean the carbon and recheck them. reassemble with new seals and let it eat! you could do that in your garage with a valve spring compressor borrowed from Advanced AutoParts
