Some say that the NIST atomic clock has been calibrated to HIM, and that he only runs onboard lap timers so that he can mock their inaccuracy.

All we know is, he's is called the Hustler.

I'm considering taking the stickers off my car and going back to DE4. I'm not running hoosiers so I won't have contingency ever, can't be competitive in TTA or TTB due to bullshit classing.

However, I like to feel there is at least some competition and I don't know when I'll ever have the cash to find a CMC car.

Drive your car in HPDE and rent a race car?

Honestly if you do all the calculations of the cost to own a real race car (such as CMC) it's cheaper to rent if you're only going to run a few races a year.

Rent a cheap miata to do your comp. school.

Then rent a miata and do a couple SM races, just don't have any body incidents...

I might look into this.

SM here in TX is a blood bath on every race.

way more money to rent on a per event basis. and when someone runs into you, your fucked. you're already setup. just run tta, don't get reclassed, just go out there and have fun like i am. you'll always find someone to battle regardless of what class they're in. plus, there's always a chance. i came in third last week in tta which is crazy.

Yeah you never know. Go, have fun, and if someone has a bad day and you end up placing well, then bonus. Besides, the way you get really fast is to race against the really fast guys. I suppose you still end up with the fast TT groups in HPDE4 however.

It's these god damned numbers I want to get rid of though because I really miss driving the green car to work occasionally.

Why can't you drive with numbers on your car to work?

Because _______?

Seriously though is there some prohibitive TX law?

Hell I drove the track car to work once with the numbers, the splitter, and the wing on it. Between that and the V8 exhaust note the looks on people's faces was amusing.

But functional wing is "Ricer" racecar disguise!

Man, I've improved a lot in the last 6-months. My hands are slower, I'm trail braking, and trusting the grip. I still need to work on "one steering input" but "Rome wasn't built in a day!" I think this is the first video I've made where I'm not embarrassed to share.

not trying to climb up your jock strap or anything... but both your car and your driving look blisteringly fast judging from that video. I wouldn't be ashamed to post video's of both skill and speed 50% of what you're accomplishing in that video. damn good.

As for the numbers on the street... I feel ya it does make me feel sorta poseur when i drive around with numbers still on teh car from the last event, but **** it. It's different when you can walk the walk and talk the talk. At this point I'd say you've got nothing to prove and no one to impress.

The performance speaks for itself.

Was that a test and tune day? I want a nice empty track like that! You didn't have to wave by a single vettehole.
