Floor after diamond grinding.



Then three layers, polyaspartic base coat, chip coat, and clear polyaspartic top coat. I had the floor done professionally, only because they do not sell the polyaspartic stuff to DIY'ers b/c supposedly one of the chemicals is dangerous. Based on the MSDS sheet, it is much more durable than epoxy and has a much higher temp rating. 25-year warranty against fading, yellowing, hot tire pickup, and bubbling. Note the 220v outlet in the back.

What was your cost per sqft compared to something like epoxy or polishing?

Don't drop any nuts or bolts -- you will never find them! I would have picked a solid color for this reason, but does look awesome.

Believe it or not, it was cheaper than polishing, and only a bit more expensive than having epoxy professionally put in. Also, I was walking on it in 2 hours, and can drive on it in 24 hours unlike epoxy where you have to wait like 2-4 weeks+. Granted you could probably buy the materials and supplies for good epoxy for much less and then have a couple weekends of work ahead of you. It was really the warranty that threw me over the edge. Actually, when selecting the color, I made the guy laugh. I threw down a handful of nuts/bolts on each sample, and this one didn't hide them. It didn't show up in the pictures, but it has a bit of sparkle like glitter that keeps the nuts/bolts from blending in.

I could park on the 2 part epoxy floor (std. lowes stuff) after 48 hours and only took Meg and I a few hours to do (not including moving all the crap outside). Of course even 48 hours of all my stuff under a tarp outside in the weather wasn't cool.

Installed this about 2 months ago. I got it off of ebay and it went together pretty smooth. Just make sure you have a hammer drill and not just a regular drill.

It's outside. I am building a carport over it from the garage out and will cover it for the most part. The only thing with it being outside is you just need to lube the chain more often. The guy that owned the house before me had one there for 10 years without a problem.

Actually in all reality Tom, one of the nicest things I've installed in my garage is a slop sink. I use that thing many times when I'm working in the garage. Fortunately my slab has the main drain on the otherside of the wall from the garage in the "utility" room; I just got the cold/hot water taps from there and made the drain mate up to the overflow from the A/C condenser/hot water heater. I think it cost about $90 total, but after buying everything from Lowes I found an old sink and faucet at a garage sale for $5 hehehe.

I'm sure with your basement there's an easy way to do it!
