I snapped one stud removing my turbo but got lucky there was enough left in the head to get a stud remover in there and pull it out without effecting the threads. I can't figure out how they'd break on their own though. Unless maybe the little support bracket under the turbo is missing and somehow the turbo shook enough to do so.

They broke I guess from retightening them. They did the typical msm stud problem and I kept retorquing them. The last time I checked them one was broken and 2 more were loose. Have parts on hand to fix but haven't had a chance to start tear down.

I picked up NA door panels and going to be working on getting them redone and installed. Looking at learning the ins and outs of carbon fiber. Gonna start with door panels and radio delete plate and then work on things gradually upping the complexity as I go.

OK so I finally have street to wrench on the car again. I just have to the lines to the turbo and the turbo brace and then the turbo and manifold will be out. Should i just go with miata roadster manifold stud kit or should I look into other options? All but 2 studs came out with the nuts and I would be more comfortable replacing them all. I really would like a set it and forget it option on these manifold studs. 3 of the 4 turbo to manifold studs came out so I will probably just go inconel with them.
Any other options?

Ok so I haven’t logged on in years and can not get into my original “NeedDirection” account. Made a new account. The car was going to be sold. Then after a year, my best friend, who was going to buy the car decided he didn’t want to deal with putting it back together. I have installed the replacement head. Now I have to install intake manifold after the egr delete plates show up, shim MSM cams, get oil lines for turbo, and run new hot side piping. I have a vics manifold to replace the vtcs intake.

reverant ms2e pnp mazdaspeed Miata, is there an open output for controlling the vics? I will research more but all of the wiring information I believe is in my pms for my old account.
