THE NEW MOTOR IS IN!!!! I decided to swap out the tiny turbo I had on and put something more sizable on there to give me the extra push I needed
Not.
We started taking everything out on Saturday morning and things looked like this in the beginning:
and ended up looking like this by the end of the night
Old Faithful finally getting to rest in peace now
As we were taking off the oild pan from the old block, it was apparent that it was a good thing that it came out when it did as we found this....I have no idea what it tore off of

Old faithful was probably minutes away from blowing up on me so I am so happy I was able to get it out in time.
Gaping hole
Putting the head studs in the new block

Looking like I happily got dragged by a bus after night one
And new motor in
That video was of yesterday afternoon on my way home from work. We didnt finish everything on the car until 6AM monday morning and I had to leave my house for work at 8am. By the time I got there, I was so exhausted that my boss told me to go home. Unfortunately for me, I forgot to change the slave cylinder when were changing engines and sure enough, on my way to work, it took a **** on me.
I had to park 5 miles away from work at a McDonalds until 11am when my friend from work took me to my car where I proceeded to replace my slave cylinder in a parking lot for the second time in 4 years. First time was on my way to work although that time I was able to get the car in the parking lot of an Advance Auto that time lol.
The funny thing is that in that video I peaked at 29psi and I hadnt changed the boost controller at all. On Old Faithful, I was making 25psi on the same setting.
Next up is getting a new meth controller from AEM, turning the boost up to 30psi, hitting the dyno and seeing what will be inhibiting me from more power. I R Happy.

Bow thy mortals head for we dwell in the company of a GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that thing in your old oil pan is just an engine barnacle.
So what injectors are you running? And what pistons are you running again? Stock miata 9:1?
Great job at getting your new motor in, in one day!

Minor annoyance. Something is wrong with my water temp readings on the hydra. Its reading 238 degrees C when my stock gauge and my autometer gauge are showing 170 plus my fans are on all the time now. Its retarding my timing to 10 degrees after 12psi to redline. Gay.

Found the source of my issue. I forgot to make the "temporary" wiring job i did to extend the harness for the water temp sensor a "permanent" wiring job. Need to address that today. I got it to work fine this morning before i left for work and holy **** 25psi with 18 degrees proper timing on this new engine is awesome.
