Hey, found your thread. Awesome build man, was cool to randomly run into someone from MT.net while I was visiting from the other side of the country for Global Time Attack.

I was taking video for a project pretty much the whole time but snapped these quick earlier in the day.

Oh hey man, thanks for the pictures. It was good talking with youyou. You really got me thinking about looking further into what classing I would fall under.

Here's some screen shots of my fastest lap of the weekend. My phone was out of storage space towards the end of day one and it only recorded data for this session so I don't have the video to go with this lap.

Current Spec Miata lap record is 1:59.96 for reference.

I do have a video of a 2:03 lap with data overlay I will try to post later. There's still obvious areas of improvement that I can make. I still brake too early, too lightly and then coast a bit into harder braking.

Right on man. Yeah that track takes some ***** to brake late in a lot of areas, a lot of the braking zones have gnarly bumps that are definitely a challenge. It's just something that comes with seat time and being consistent and precise about picking and utilizing braking points/markers.

Here are the rules by the way. Like I said you would easily fit into street class with just a change of tires. There will be some changes for 2016 so if you do plan on coming out for the Road Atlanta event for Formula D weekend, keep an eye on them. 2015 Rules - Global Time Attack

That 2:00.00 theoretical time would have been enough to edge out 3rd place in street class assuming you could do that with RS3's and some additional seat time, not to mention you still have the ability to hit that plus key for some more power when it matters haha. Looking forward to the video!

The OBD data overlay isn't 100% correct, II actually only shift at 3 points on the track: from 4th-6th then back to 4th on the front straight, to 5th on the back straight then back down to 4th right before turn 13(baby straight).

UPDATE:

So, I contacted Corky at BEGi after the thread about the benefits of their intake manifold started to get heated. There was mention of a third party tuning comparison and he asked if there was anyone willing to do so. I volunteered for the task and he liked my overall build and accepted my offer.

Below are the results of that comparison. The dyno used was a Dyno Dynamics and all runs were in 5th gear. (the actual numbers bummed me out a bit, I was expecting higher numbers but the tuner says the dyno reads low... I feel like they all say that though so I don't know anymore) The only part changed between runs was the intake manifold. (and necessary cold-side intercooler piping to mate up to the centrally placed TB on the bottom of the manifold.)

This graph compares WHP andTorque between the factory manifold and the BEGi.

This graph shows the WHP and Boost PSI (20PSI) between the factory manifold and the BEGi.

after I got the comparisons I upped the boost (Peaks at 26PSI and tapers to just under 22PSI) with the BEGi manifold and came up with:

To add another comparison... My previous dyno that I did on a Dynojet from when I had the Fab9 coils. The differences between the Dynojet run and the initial run on the Dyno Dynamics is as follows...

Dynojet
MS2e
Fab9 coils
19.6psi

Dyno Dynamics
MS3 Basic
LS2 Truck coils
20psi
AEM Water/Meth V2 (progressive from 11psi to full spray at 15psi)

So it shifted power to the right and gained ~40?

central throttle body, does that interfere with a lot of plumbing down there for those who still have A/C?

I assume stock is blue, Begi is brown?

Interesting numbers despite a little loss down low. Stock TB?

Pretty interesting results.

What kind of gas were you running? EDIT: (Guessing 93 + Meth?)

Just curious what you were running for timing and if you had to back it off when you turned the boost up to 26.

I would love to see what a VICS manifold would do on that setup. I had similar gains going from a VTCS with stock TB to a VICS with Skunk2 TB.
