Default 2k6 7 fiddy's build (lotsa pics)

Long story short, I've had this car for going on 10 years. Base greddy kit has been on it since late 2003. I found a few other hobbies and only drove the miata occasionally and eventually not at all. I recently decided to dive back into the miata and wanted to share and hear your opinions.

Here's the car as it sat as of a few months ago.

My friend gave me this i/c and I made a bracket out of my a/c condenser bracket. I still don't have it all the way piped as I don't know if I want to take out my p/s or not (input)? I want to clock the turbo, but haven't really seen it done with p/s. I think once.

The cross bars have been cut down as to not affect flow.

In the bumper

Eyeballing with it clocked

Next I put my turbo Tony downpipe in

I know oil feed fail! It's been replaced, just don't have pics.
I'm gonna drill and tap my pan tomorrow.

Koyo radiator with silicone intakes 12" fans

Any tips on wiring both of these? One is going to my stock wiring, but I'm not sure if the relay will take both.

Interior while swapping center consoles. Dash coming out next.

Momo Start I picked up already on Miata rail

I''d like to make 200-220 horsepower eventually. I've got 440 rc injectors and will order a MS from Brain once I get fundage and finish what I've already started. Feel free to post pics of your setups if you'll think they'll help with my i/c piping. I'll post pics of my koyo when it goes in and any other updates. Hopefully I'll have my pan tapped tomorrow so pics of that too.

And my helper. She likes sitting in the Miata seat in the garage and can't wait to go cruising.

Holy rusted corroded metal Batman!

Without a shroud those fans won't do much, if anything at all. I've gone from stock fans to ebay fans and to save the effort of making a shroud, I'm going back to stock fans. The wiring should take both, a lot of people wire in the AC fan to the primary fan, so they both come on all the time.

I'm on the edge about not having P/S on a DD miata. I don't mind it, the extra feel is nice, but it is a pain in the parking lot, and I have (no joke) really big forearms/biceps. The benefits out weigh the downfalls in my opinion, but I really on drive it on the weekends and track. I do know there's much more than one person running around with P/S and an intercooler. I believe you clock it like you've shown, go forward, down and then around the radiator.

[random comments] Not to bash Turbotony, but damn that flange is thin! I have a custom one the PO made, and it's easily twice as thick. Your steering wheel is hideous. Cute dog. [/random comments]

It's not my daily, just a weekend. Haha the steering wheel! This was my first car and I had a small case of ricer fever, it used to have red neons under the seats too! I'm most likely gonna paint the red on the steering wheel black. Oh and I thought the same thing about the flange. Also I forgot to add I need to find/make an exhaust and was wondering if anyone has diy'd a dual exit? If so I'd like to see some pics and what muffler you're using. The tony downpipe leaks connecting to my 2.25 test pipe. (Really you cant just bolt 2.5" pipe to 2.25" pipe? )

Forgot to add that this should be on in a few days as well. I think I'm gonna paint the hardtop and pillars black. Any thought?

For the LAST time P51, NO the steering wheel is not for sale! Haha I put the stock rear bumper back on, but the front is kinda bent up from being outside. I'm trying to find a stocker and also some reinforcements before a car show at the end of the month. Also is anyone using U bends to go around the radiator for intercooler piping?

This is so not true.

I don't have a shroud and when my fans come on I watch the temps on my digital gauge drop like a fat man.

Started sanding the top and pillars last night. Should be black by the end of the week hopefully. I'll post some pics when I get done.

That flange looks like 3/16", The minimum ive seen flanges is 3/8". Wire brush that aluminum because it makes me cringe.

I'm gonna clean everything up once I get it all running with the i/c and new radiator. I should have the red valve cover on by the end of the week also. Just ordered a 2" 90* coupler to come off the turbo. I'm just not sure where the pipe is gonna fit between the p/s and coolant hoses. Any pics of a clocked greddy w/ i/c and p/s would be greatly appreciated.

A little update. I came home tonight and there was a black NB in my driveway. My dad was putting a radiator in his car and I got to talking to him. He tells me he wants to get rid of his hard top and doesn't know what it's worth. He wants "about 350" and gave me his card and asked me if I could sell it. As some of you know I'm looking to paint my hard top black anyway. I'm calling this dude tomorrow offering him 300 and see what he says. In other news I put my Koyo radiator in and wrinkle red valve cover on (thanks Railz). Cars really dirty I know. Also I'm thinking about ditching my p/s so i can run 2.5" hot side i/c piping and was wondering how everyone loops the lines?

^^^^LOOK!^^^^ shrouds? I should have clarified, in normal driving they worked fine. If the engine was heat soaked, they didn't seem to do squat where as the stock fans have/would.

You don't need to ditch anything to run 2 1/2" piping. I run it with a/c and have plenty of clearance, also did just fine with p/s too.

Got any pics? I don't see how that big of piping would fit. Is yours clocked?

No clocking. Just goes to the bottom right of the bay and clears everything with ease.
