I would die. How long do they deprive you of food/water? I can't go more than 12 hours without eating a big meal. I always have on-the-go snacks(fruit snacks/trail bars yadda yadda) on me at all times.

Good work all, it was an epic thread drift that only the power of bacon or donuts could instigate.

Seriously I drive by that donut shop literally twice per day (to and from work). Will stop and try it, maybe tomorrow morning on my way to work.

Report forthcoming.

For the Navy version circa late-80s, no food for a week. Obviously, you get water -- can't live without that. In theory, you can scrounge off the land during the Survival/Evasion phase (so long as you don't leave tracks/clues that get you captured), but the training areas are always picked clean. Plus, I did mine in the middle of Maine in early December. There was nothing.

When you get "liberated," they feed you. But it's only things like soup, milk and scrambled eggs. Your esophagus gets really, really sore because it has to re-stretch. Wierd. Lots of medical people are there in the background keeping a close eye on things (and to pull the poor Jeff's out of training, LOL).

Now, back to donuts. And bacon.

Yes, Ed, bring me some of them donuts so I can compare to Voodoo. Yes Jeff, those were voodoo.

I'm somewhere in between Jeff and G. The remnant metabolism from the competitive swimming days has kept me from putting on a significant amount of weight, but I'm definitely not 5% body fat any more. And I'm one of those guys who only puts on weight on the belly - so it shows immediately as a nice middleaged pooch.

Consistently getting to the pool is the best thing I can do. But so much wrenching! And my family expects me to, like, converse with them and stuff! GOSH. So little time left for exercise. About the only way I can consistently get it done is to get my *** out of bed before everybody else, and do it before breakfast. Otherwise the day just gets consumed by stuff.

I'm currently looking into 2 jobs, 1 has a soccer field on campus and an awesome group of hlguys who play for an hour everyday. The other one doesn't. I honestly don't think anything will convince me to pass on the job with soccer, unless theres a 5 figure salary difference.mostly because I have absolutely no self motivation to excersize. And the health costs of weighing 300 lbs easily offset the money difference.

Take the soccer job - it means they have a culture of "get all the **** done, including exercise" as opposed to "the beatings will continue until morale improves"

I interned there over the summer, and the culture is my favorite part of it. Now if they would just finalize the offer so I can blow the rest of my money on car parts...

Donut Day achieved:

The aftermath:

Donuts were yummy. Kinda undercooked as Jeff said.

Edit: I better explain that photo. I bought 18 donuts and took them all over the dealership to the different departments. I ended up eating 2.5 of them (or, rather, am in the process of eating 2.5... not sure I'll make it) and the ones in the box are what's left. I need to figure out what to do with them.

I have no love of the maple bar either Ed. That is of course, unless swank maple syrup is used for good flavor.

Next time any of you are in Corvallis you need to try out Nut Cakes, they are awesome.

NutCakes - Home

They also have a donut burger...glazed donut for the bun with a cheeze burger in the middle. Sounds gross, tastes ******* amazing.....once again how am I not 300lbs.

Lol... I did get one maple bar, someone snagged it. Remember, there were 18 donuts and I didn't get more than 2 of any one kind. I do like the maple bacon bar from Voodoo.

I dunno, I kinda like the chewy soft ones. I'm one of the people who loves a Krispy Kreme original glazed but I can enjoy both styles.

I hate all you donut eating bastards.

I have been on a diet since January. Only lost 9.5 pounds so far, and I have given up such nice things as donuts. Today I stopped taking one of my meds that I suspect contributes to my inability to lose weight even when nearly starving myself.

I'll take one of the chocolates Ed! And a new Miata at buddy pricing!

Is it time to change the thread title yet? "MT.net Donut Thread."
