That is some great airbrushing the scheme flows real well. Nice to see a great paint job on a tracked car. How often do you go to road atlanta I would like to come up there for a trip when my car is sorted out. Nice job on the paint.

Last Monday was my 1st trip there... love it! I hope to make it out more often if the fundage allows. I'm mostly at Barber, but hope within the next year or so, hit VIR, Sebring, Homestead and maybe MidOhio. I really love running with Chin Motorsports. I hail from N. Illinois, so maybe timing a trip home with a weekend at Road America or Joliet wilol be possible too. Road America looks awesome!

Well, made it out to BMWCCA event at Barber this past weekend. Other than retorquing manifold bolts, all went great! The weather could have been better but at least it wasn't a wash-out. Got some great wet track time with standing rivers... white knuckle driving! Really didn't want to wad the car up with that nice paint job... this is going to be a problem! I wish someone was there to take a pic, b/c in the second straight I over-took a vette with an American flag theme on his sides... like a battle. Was too cool. Anyway, learned something about the gopro HD... you have to freaking convert every MP4 file to avi to edit... what a pain, plus the qual is off and the sound is mis-matched. Anyway, here's the 1st vid I spit out trying to stay with my buds... way too much traffic!

Nice vid- but yeah, helluva train out there. Nothing like a bunch of high powered cars slothing it through the corners and braking zones. :(

Damn rolling German roadblocks LOL.

Did you happen to notice a big motorcycle rally in the area around Barber last weekend? Supposedly there's a big museum around there. My dad rode down there from NC on his BMW Ksomethingorother.

If you want to come up to VIR, MazdaDrivers is running there June 12-13 on the Grand East configuration which is the most technical and Miata-friendly. I'll be there helping to staff the event and there are still some open spots. You won't get as much seat time as with Chin, but we cost less, and it's a 4.2 mile course with run groups numbering in the low-30s so you get plenty of open track. You should come up so I can see your car.

When you first made mention of the paint, I was like "ehhh, not gonna look good". But man was I wrong. I think it came out amazing. Truly one of a kind looking miata with ***** to back it up. Nicely done!

Thanks for the comps guys... I DOOOO want to make it out to VIR sometime. Maybe in the fall, I can only hope!

The museum is there at Barber, the first thing you see when you enter! So that's why there were so many bike around town... You're on my radar, keep me posted on future events. Does the club have a website I can tag to my favorites?

Sure, www.mazdadrivers.com. We've typically done 3-4 weekend HPDEs a year, usually at VIR and Summit Point. When the economy tanked we saw just a slight drop in attendance but it was enough that we've dropped to just 2 VIR events for the past couple years. Fortunately it looks like this one will fill up. Actually, back when VIR reopened about a decade ago our group was one of the earlier ones to commit to running events there. So we have a good relationship with the owners and still get some of the desireable weekend dates, despite not being as big as Chin or some of the other groups.

Scott and Turo - I will be going to both VIR and Sebring sometime (Homestead would rock, but it's a long-*** drive!)... maybe not this year but the next for sure! I'll see both of you then? Thanks for the link Scott

Everyone says it's an awesome wrap... then you should see their eyes when I correct them!

Bidding on an abandoned '94 next week for the engine... maybe I can have something forged for next fall?

Whoops!

It was the gopro HD with the rollbar mount. The unconverted video is awesome, but having to convert it to avi then shrink it down to put on youtube kills the quality. I'm not a video editing wiz, so there may be a better way than what I'm doing...
As for the conversion, before I had my macbook pro I never found a good way to edit video in windows on my desktop so I took the easy route and got a macbook pro with final cut express; that and I needed the portability for a coding project. Easiest video editing software ever! It works great for my autocross videos.

So what's better than owning a Miata? Why owning 2 of course! Found this '91 buried at a body shop. Thought I'd stop by and ask about it... turns out to be a poor abondoned miata. Well, I took it upon myself to adopt it at an adoption cost of $700. She's rough, but nothing major... I have a lot of spare parts around and should get it running in a weekend. Can't decide to use it as a DD, or SPEC it out for some door to door action, perhaps next year. Anyway, think the price was right?
