Default Another NB mix & match turbo build

Obligatory "I'm going to try to turbo my Miata" thread. After 2 years of regret from selling my NA I picked up this NB.
1999 SE with lots of bolt ons & 112k miles
KYB adjustable shocks/RB springs, FM front/rear sways/endlinks, 15" Panasports, Yokohama S-drives, Powerstop rotors/HP+ pads, Goodrich stainless brake lines, RB header, FM catback, K&N Intake, Newer stage 2 clutch & LW flywheel.
The only thing that NEEDS to be fixed is the rocker rust. It's mostly on the driver's side & just a hair on the passenger side. Thankfully I'm great friends with a body work guy.
The plan for this car is ultimately enjoy the road. Have some fun. And do lots of skids. And not the ones in my pants.
My turbo budget is around $2000 as of right now. I also have LOTS of new WRX parts I'm in the works of selling that will give me that extra help.
Turbo Parts List: Blue- ordered/already have Red-need to get
Megasquirt PNP 2
Flyin' Miata Manifold/Outlet/Downpipe combo
Oil supply/return & water lines
RX7 injectors
AEM wideband & kickass little boost gauge
MBC
eGay FMIC kit
BOV of some sort
GM AIT
Godspeed T25
Probably missing a couple other things

Thankfully, I have my own shop which I've been doing diy projects in for years. Hoist, welder, air comp, lots & lots of extra bolts, clamps, fittings & every tool you could imagine. We'll see how this build turns out! I'll probably need any help I can get along the way. I plan on getting the car running on the MS, gather all the turbo parts, install turbo parts, then tune, do skids.

Here's an engine bay shot. Got it all cleaned. Also truck bed lined several brackets & clean up the bolts as well. It's the little things. And yes, I also hate the intake. Never been a fan of them on na cars. But I figured since it's getting turbo'd, I'll just leave it.

Welcome

I'd re-think the godspeed t25 and get a garrett t25 because it will actually fit. (some chinachargers have a slightly different 5-bolt outlet pattern that doesn't fit the FM bits)

Also don't "reserve" too many posts cause after like 3 days the system won't let you edit them anywy

T25s are so cheap too. Buy a blown one for $50 from a nissan forum, $90 rebuild kit from GPopShop. Bam. If you ever have issues, you can just swap CHRAs and keep the exhaust and compressor housings. All your i/c piping etc. will still bolt right up.

Also, I would strongly suggest EV14 GT500 injectors instead of the RX7 injectors. You won't regret it.

Care to elaborate why on the injectors?

I'll do some more looking at that. The only reason I would go with RX7's is because I have some spares from my 91

Just a suggestion but one of the vendors here has developed some Miata specific EV14 injectors. Trackspeed Engineering

Updated the 2nd post. Got some stuff in the mail. Still have to order my turba & the FMIC. This week, I'm going to get the car running on the MS. Hopefully that goes easy. I do however have a couple questions that I couldn't find myself. Since it's an NB, how do I go about with the GM AIT? Just replace the oem one with it?

Sorry for lack of updates. Been somewhat lazy. Just tinkering here & there on it. But, it's getting closer to being done! I spoke to the guys at AIM tuning down in Indy & they said they would be glad to tune the car for me.
There's still several small things todo:
Tighten manifold bolts
Replace oil hoses
Run coolant lines
Route the turbo side IC piping

Replaced valve cover gasket/painted valve cover

Mounted the FMIC. There is also bracing on top. Got the cold side piping done also.

Here's where I lucked out. The car at some point in it's life was supercharged. The charger broke & one of the P.O.'s uninstalled it. My Dad pointed out an odd hose & I traced it down. Turns out, its an oil return! And yes, it's so sludgy. I plan on degreasing the absolute **** out of it soon.

Top of oil return. You can see it's just ziptied in there. I plan on replacing this of course.

This is the other line that's a supply. Also getting replaced.

Drilled, tapped & JB welded AIT sensor

Turba is here.

Quick mock-up.

I'm still keeping my AC/PS so fitting this is going to be a little tricky. The outlet is touching the PS line so I'll see what I can do. With some creativity & the right set of tools, it should fit.

Got my AIT done. I'm a little upset about the oil/water line kit I ordered. Basically the only thing I can use from it is the oil supply line. The fittings & bolts don't work with the turbo. Guess I'll have to make several runs to the NAPA store. I fixed the clearance issue with the turbo though. Ended up just clocking it. The oil feed hole was on the side & as you saw, the turbo outlet was downward. This is a quick mock-up of what I ended up with. I have a 2 1/2" to 2" 90 elbow for the outlet coming. I'm satisfied. Hopefully I can get my oil lines mounted & route the water lines & see if this thing starts sometime next week!

Got all my coolant lines & oil lines on. Finished up the hotside IC piping. It's now been twice that I've ordered the oil drain tube that attaches to the turbo. First time the holes were too close to each other, 2nd the holes were too far apart. Son of a bitch. So, I ordered yet another drain tube that should work. That's the only thing setting me back from starting this up! Amazon Prime comes in handy though. Tube should be here Monday.

It runs! Started up first try & actually idled a bit but then died. Hell yeah! But, the oil feed bolt must not seat properly or something because it spewed out some oil. I'll need to find a bolt with a larger head or something that will not leak. My wideband showed 13 to 14 while at idle. I still need to install my injectors.
