Lol, I had to check and see if this was actually my build thread for a moment Carry on.
What's wrong with Mormons? I'm going to guess I'm missing some sort of joke from some other thread and this isn't just random intolerance? I mean, yeah, I find it annoying when anyone interrupts my weekend hangover to share The Word™ but really?

Its kinda funny how your build thread never gets updated because:
I did actually drive it a couple days this last week, but I need to do an oil change and a brake fluid flush this week before I can drive it in anger. I also need to flush the ethylene glycol antifreeze out of the engine and replace it with distilled + water wetter.
- You haven't actually driven the car in over a month
- When it doesn't get driven it doesn't break
- If it's not broken there is nothing to update

Remember how after laguna you were sure you were going to get seats, and harnesses, and new tires, and then track it a bunch. Now we are 5 days away from laguna, and how much of that did you do?
Are you still on your 10 year old NT01s?

Ok, you guys are going to love this: the last fuel receipt I have for this car is from May of 2016 for 5.2gal of CA91. The receipt previous to that one is from September 4 2015 when I topped up with 100 on Sunday at last years M@MRLS.
I think I should probably pump out the tank and fill it with fresh CA91

Ok, IDK WTF that is but its freaking me out.
Yeah no, I didn't do any of that ****. That's what happens when you have zero racecar budget because your spouse is unemployed. Priorities man, priorities.
Ahem! FOUR year old NT-01s thank-you-very-much

Also, I've had them stashed in my garage in garbage bags while not in use. While not optimal, they should be fine to use. The temps here are mild enough that this is the last thing I'm worried about. Maybe tires next year, if I get back into this. Right now I can't justify the expense.
Could be worse, my RS-3 have a production date in late 2010 and have been on the car since March of 2011. I just finally wore the "Ventus" and flame logo off the center sipe
I like your enthusiasm, but the closest E85 station is still ...45 miles away. So no. :(

All of California is expensive but Monterey County is for whatever reason full on retarded expensive to live in. I believe this county has the highest gap between average income and home prices of anywhere else in the state right now. The average price for homes on the market in this county is something ridiculous like $700k. That's SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS - AVERAGE. I live in Salinas CA, an AG town with a gang problem that is the joke of pretty much all the surrounding areas yet I can't touch anything in my neighborhood that I'd be willing to live in for under half a million (check zillow, 93901 south of highway 101.) I make enough that we were not in any kind of trouble, but the last couple years have been tight and we've had to make sure we live within our means. Dumping our savings into a down payment for a $500,000 home is not exactly something I've been willing to do as of late. I'm actually quite proud that we never touched our savings and never carried debt, but the other side of that frugality has meant no racecar spending. It sucks, but that is reality. I'm tired of paying rent but I'm also not willing to spend $300k on a half a duplex or a condo with a $300/mo HOA that won't let me wrench on anything or a 700sq/ft shed that was built in 1902. My only hope right now is to wait for another correction or move out of the area and get another job.
Monk was talking about hiring at the tribology lab over in the ramble thread a couple weeks ago so I looked up real estate in Huntington, Indiana (from his sig.) I could damn near pay cash for a 3 bed 2 bath 1500sq/ft with detached 2 car garage/shop. It just about made me cry.
SO yeah, motivation to work on the car and thus spend money has been incredibly low.
