I would be too. Better be safe than sorry dude, that car is way too easy to steal, or even steal parts off.
And miata theft is going up with all the stancebro rejects getting into them these days.
When I was at my house it was in garage/back yard locked up the whole time.
Getting into my yard is not hard. Getting out, alive, is quite the challenge.
Not taking chances.

I'm pretty sure there was no way they could have started it, but yes, ripping off parts would not be impossible.

I'm going to start seriously looking into a more low profile gauge solution. It's not like my cabin is full of BECAUSERACECAR stuff, (I removed the progressive LED shift indicator right after MRLS) but I dislike my current gauges and this gives me a good excuse to make some changes.

At a secret fuel pump switch. Will suck to have to use, but should prevent the car from being stolen unless they have a flat bed.

Going to do this too when I rewire my fuel pump.

There are certain electrical modifications to the car that are not documented in this thread. That's all I'm saying about that.

Not a good idea. The thieving scum do know about this, a lot. Once they hear no fuel pump priming, they will instantly look for the switch, and they will find it.

A better approach would be to install a switch for the crank or cam sensor instead.

Or take the MS3 out and lock it in the house. A bit more of a PITA, though.

There are probably a dozen different things that you can easily put on a killswitch that will prevent the car from starting. The hard part is hiding the switch in such a place that its not a complete pain in the *** to get to, but not obvious to a thief.

What about an RFID based kill switch with it hidden under the console. Use one of the keychain style transponders. Should be close enough?

EDIT: https://vimeo.com/25676340 I'm sure the electronics guys on this site could come with a more elegant solution.

Magnetic reed switch. Can be anywhere behind the plastic trim and then you just stick a magent to it to turn it on?

Or by a bear, and chain it to the car.

QR steering wheel helps.

So does a simple car alarm. Thieves hate attention. The low hanging fruit thing, etc.

I've been driving the Miata to work on Fridays for the funsies, regardless of weather. This morning, ambient temp was 34ºF. IAT @ full boosts? 35ºF

So intercooler appears to be working. Too bad the tires don't

If my RS3s weren't dead before, after all the frost that was on the car this morning they are probably dead now. I think they were 2011 or 2010 vintage? I'm sure they'll be 'fine' for the rest of teh winter, I just need to watch it.

I'm honestly impressed that the car started at 34ºF. It took a little coaxing with the throttle but it eventually caught on the 3rd try. I should note that its still 2/3 full of 100 octane from Miatas@MRLS

I need to find more time to drive. Oi

If you want "The Mother Of All Intercoolers" I have the Precision 600 that Andrew was running on Theseus sitting in my garage. Its just as good if not better than the Treadstone one I'm running now.

Missed out on the $186 all seasons from discount tire.. They are actually doing really well. Raced a lexus something or another (the older v8 one) last night and didn't get any wheel spin.
