The clutch in the Subaru would make that ...quite challenging.

X-ray proved nothing broken, so at this point we suspect something is torn. Yay!

I took a bad step backwards down a small slope in the dark. It turns out the small slope was a small embankment covered with tennis ball sized rocks. After the initial POP! and shot of pain, I tucked and rolled the rest of the way down the embankment into a riverbed also full of rocks. I immediately cinched my boots down as tight as I could get them and hobbled my way back to camp. Fun times!

Its like an incredibly bad sprain. X-ray last night proved nothing was broken but that's a mixed blessing. Something is torn in there just not sure exactly what at the moment. I'd almost prefer it was broken because soft tissue damage like this suuuuuuuuuuuucks. I've got an appointment with a specialist and I believe an MRI is in my future.

Thanks! I does them myself. I find they cut a lot easier if you do it right after you get out of the shower.

Ouch!!

Had something similar a few years ago. Jogging before sunrise and hit a pothole. Felt for all the world like a broken bone -- really sharp pain. Fortunately, it healed quickly.

Was it ankle or lower leg pain? A similar situation happened to my dad at a Thanksgiving tennis tournament. Turned out to be a torn achilles. With any luck you'll be OK, and if not maybe some surgery is in your future.

Sorry dude. Been there done that too many times. Torn ACL/MCL/Meniscus all twice in the same knee.

Hope you heal fast. Breaks are better than torn ligaments FYI. Hope for a break, not a tear.

Sucks man!

Hopefully you didn't severely sprain your ankle. The recovery process is really long, and your ankle will be weak and prone to re-injury for quite some time.

My wife sprained her ankle about 3 months ago. Category 3 sprain, the doctors told her it would have been better if she broke her ankle. They couldn't do much for it, just a boot that she wore for a week, and a bunch of physical therapy. She still isn't recovered fully, there is still swelling, and the pain randomly comes back. They said this is normal for a severe sprain, and the symptoms should completely go away after about 9 months.

Hope this isn't the case for you!

Seriously? The man is down, he's in pain, and you recommend buying an Italian car. That's real low bro.

Believe it or not a co-worker and I were discussing this today. If it turns out I can't drive stick for like the next 9 months or something stupid this might be closer to reality than you can possibly imagine.

I don't know anything about the 500e, but the wife and I have been very happy with the 500 Lounge for 120K now.

To be fair, what happened to my wife was about as bad as a sprain gets, and she could "function" after about 3 weeks, it just wasn't exactly pleasant. Your ankle probably isn't sprained as bad as hers was, her ankle looked like someone shoved an actual tennis ball in her skin for about a solid week after the incident.

You probably will be able to drive a stick pretty soon, it just might not be very enjoyable for quite a long time.
