Still not sure how the little turbo can handle all the flow (exhaust and air) from the big turbo. Therefore...

It will not be able to handle the exhaust, that's why I'm using a 38mm external gate and ported the crap out of the factory internal gate. Gotta order a boost can for the internal gate that's dual port though.

Intake will be fine, this is a traditional compound setup regarding design and routing of pipes (except my big turbo is in the back, would never fit in engine bay) and they work fine for those setups.

Yeap, thanks man! It's going to looks sweet when it's all put together under the bumper, this turbo looks nasty.

I love how the boost pipe squeezed in next to the PPF. I was wondering how you'd manage to run it and exhaust. Can't wait to see what this thing does. Nice to see a build thread progress so quickly too, great work so far.

On the intake side it's because the compressor will flow a certain volume of air at a certain pressure ratio. 100 kpa inlet and 200 kpa outlet is a 2:1 pressure ratio, at which you can flow N CFM. Double the inlet pressure to 200 kpa with an secondary turbo and you can run that same 2:1 pressure ratio with the same N CFM of flow but you get 400 kpa out.

Fundamentally it's because flow limits are related to the speed of sound, and the speed of sound is mostly not affected by pressure.

I think I got confused by the term " Corrected airflow (lb/min)" on the x-axis on compressor maps. This looked to me like it can only flow a certain mass-flow. That little word "corrected" sure packs a punch here!

so what you're saying is, run allofit from both turbos and see how fast your ears pick up the speed of sound of the engine ventilating?

Yeah, I think that has a built-in assumption that the inlet pressure is 100 kpa.

Got a little done today, not nearly as productive as I would have liked but got sick for a while and couldn't work.

Anyways made good progress on boost pipe, but it's still not quite done. Will finish it tomorrow. The easy part is left, I tried to make it earlier but cut a couple pieces wrong and decided to call it a night.

Pics of what I did do though.

And this little guy still looking good!

Hm. Given the location of the intake, I'm thinking that driving this car in the rain is likely to be unwise.

depending on how the dump pipe is routed, it might also have Direct Exhaust Injection

It's tucked up pretty high, and inside the rear fender well too. I actually think it might stay dry. Will test, and change something if it gets wet. The filter barely fits there, but it fits, so sticking with simplicity until proven that it needs to be more complex.
