Most manifold are like that. With my BEGi cast manifold I had to grind down the sides of a box end to get in there. Maybe doing the same would help you?

Yeah we ground down a box end to get it to fit.

ps. IT RUNS!!!!!!

Its missing right now, but we're going to look at timing first.

I jumped the f/p-GND pins for fuel. Can i leave it like that or do i need to remove it?

Some work got done today!

Timing belt and water pump were replaced because the pump took a shiiiit.

Got it done after 5 or so hours of work which isn't bad cause I'm slow.

What this means, Finally most of the bullshit stuff is out of the way so i can move onto cool/fun parts.

Exhaust might get done on monday which is going to be WILD.

ACT 6puck and lightweight flywheel are now on their way.

Diff needs a rebuild still and I'm working on that

Tune By the end of the week (i know I've said this a million times already but he's been really busy)

The car runs pretty solid now and I only had one small issue after first startup which was i didn't tighten a cam gear all the way so i made the worst knocking noise on the planet.

Oh, btw I finally painted my valve cover to something cleaner looking:

Uh, I don't think you'll last 20 minutes without a coolant reroute or on those studs man.

lol... he would be JUST fine. I road raced a stock 1.6 with a greddy kit making 200whp without a coolant reroute.

Car is running pretty solid, but i came across a small issue.

The car is only boosting 8psi and its set for 10+psi It seems like the car is only running off wastegate pressure, but my solenoid is <2months old.

The weird part is it is intermittent. Once and a while it will boost full pressure but most of the time it's only 8psi.

Any ideas on where to start looking. My first thought is checking all the couplers but i didnt know if any of you guys have had a similar problem. I'm runing a brain built ms

So things are starting to get stale and I've decided to do more frustrating/expensive things to the car.

Goal is to be able to do one or two XDC events in 2012 lol. They are always fun events and there are good dudes driving so I want to join in on the fun.

Anyways, heres whats up with the car:

Has been running super solid at 10psi but i've been told it can handle a lot more pressure than that so 15psi is a conservative number that i've been told i can run with my motor. That should net me 250whp which is wayyyyy more than i ever planned to have, but I want to be able to keep up with SR's.

Thats only the small portion of what is in the works.

I am planning on doing a full RX-7 driveline. Meaning trans, diff, axles and including T-II front calipers/custom rotors, rx-7 rear calipers and rotors, as well as rx-7 hubs converted to 4x114.

The goal here is to have a strong driveline to handle all the abuse of drifting+"power" as well as have a functional e-brake. Some local driver (mike burns) made fun of my car for having no ebrake and consequently caused this bunch of non-sense. rx-7 calipers have a little more contact area and a better selection of pads (read Project Mu). Hopefully with this the car will be super reliable and a very solid drift car. My goal is to make it be able to function as well as an S-chassis while being something different.

Here are some of the parts i've acquired for the next part of the build:

Aerocatch Hoodpins

I have a diff already at the house. still need to source a trans, axles and get a custom driveshaft. The guy doing my machine work has rear calipers already.

Distant plans include new cage, safety bullshit and mysterious wheels that I'm super pumped on getting (ps they're sitting in NC waiting to get shipped)

update!

Redid my IC piping and finally put my ******* hoodpins on

HUUUUGE ups to Joe H and Adam at Streetorstrip for all the fabwork/help this car definitely wouldn't be where it is without those two dudes.

Lowered the rad 2" rebuilt the core support, moved the IC location and made new mounts.

TBD: control arm mods, bash bar, driveline swap. I decided to keep the miata trans because the TII is a lot of work and I'm lazy
