Oh, WAIT, unless you meant that you were going to run NA for a year while I ran your Absurdflow for a year. Then I might feel conflicted.

This thread never ceases to amaze me

Reshell with 10AE!
Run the car NA!
Learn to drive the car!
Sit on turbo parts and wait for them to hatch!
Buy Rotrex!

If I were in this situation with these options, I'd seriously consider this course of action:
  1. Buy 10AE shell
  2. Transplant ALLTHETHINGS
  3. Buy smaller turbo
  4. TURN DOWN THE ******* BOOST
  5. Learn to drive
  6. ALLOFIT! and more driving!
  7. Reinstall old turbo!
But that's just me. And based on my history, I'm certainly not someone who's advice you should be following.

lolol i'm not throwing down, but I have recording on video of at least three times you exclaiming "you have sooo much more torque than I do" while riding in my car... and that was on my low boost setting.

G, I genuinely lol'd at your post.

Richard, if you want to go through the hassle of installing the absurdflow goodies you're welcome to play with them for a bit... if i decide to sit on them. Otherwise they'll be for the sales. Which makes me sadpanda but ALLTHEDECISIONS are YETTOBEMADE.

I'm stoked to see that your car is getting... Rebuilt. Or at least some parts getting a new lease on life.

Interesting situation. I just dropped a bundle on the RB header. I like my Rotrex, and honestly the car has been underboost for what it should have been running. I think I've fixed that. With the misc upgrades I would not be surprised at 250 whp, but it might come out to 230.

The only thing that bugs me is that turbo miatas driven hard need resbond, inconel studs, and safety wire. I drive hard. For me to turbo my car and have peace of mind I need to do those three things. For me to continue to rotrex my car, I need to do none of those things. So while the go faster part of me says "Yessssss, the absurdflow, it is precioussss, you must have it" the rest of me says roll with what I have and minimize worries.

So unless you're going to sell me your whole absurdflow setup for a grand, I'm not interested (very). But your turbo is big enough to support my 8k redline ... so talk to me before posting it, if you decide to post it. Personally, I'd hang onto it and run it 2016, since it's paid for, and run my 01 header/midpipe for 2015. But if you feel the need to release it to the masses talk to me first.

The problem here is I have realized after having tracked a miata for years that I am a ***** for power. I totally believe in skill and grip. But damn, power, there's nothing else like it. And sphincter-clenching grip-destroying crash-inducing boost onset may not be faster on track, but it sounds fun.

Edit: and WHAT are the ******* ODDS that not one, both both of my kegs blow during this post. GODDDAMMIT.

Yep, no need for anything, just the willpower to not go into boost mid corner in the rain on a wet road on r-comp summer tires never designed for rain

The laugh when I post this, cause with the moronic oem msm power delivery thanks to the ecu, I actually spun mid corner yesterday as the car went from 5tq to 150tq

Rs3s aren't r comps....
I like the idea of learning to drive, either with a small turbo or no turbo.

I have no idea, as you can see. I know they're not good in the rain. At all. Much less with nearly 300tq

you gays crack me up.

I just need to get the shell and finish the partout and determine final health of engine and cost of rebuild. You all know I want trubo as much as the next guy. If I buy another turbo though, it'd be an EFR.... no sense in mucking about. Though I'd consider a GTX if it bolts in easier.

But all that is just talk. I don't know my car. I need to learn to drive. I want a simpler car. I'm afeared of the 10AE business since OBD2 and all that. But I overcame that once and I can do it again.

I dunno Ed, I don't think you need to turn down the boost. It hasn't made me wreck my car yet! hurriedly looks for wood to knock on

FWIW I really don't think I would have wrecked it again. I had been driving the car for almost 2 hours before I handed the keys to my dad, and 15 minutes later we were in the ditch.

I had gained a respect and understanding of the car that he didn't gain yet.

But beyond that, it was difficult to control on the track and despite much much more power and more tire I only beat the na 1.6 experts by less than 2 seconds. I need more experience.
