Doing brake research and I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
I kept my rear sport brakes and sold the fronts since I plan to run a BBK in the front.
I'm drooling over these calipers:
NEW SIX PISTON DynaPro 6 Caliper Big Brake Kit Upgrade for Big Brake Kit PURCHASED TODAY! for Miata
But figure that's probably way overkill. All I really need is the regular 11" setup from 949, FM or Goodwin, right?
Should I just go for the 11.75" kit and be done with it? What will match my rear sports best?

Sport rears + TSE 11.75 BBK + Sport master cylinder & booster + Adjustable prop valve = bestest brakes.11's seem to go well with the stock 1.8 rears. That is the combo I'm running now with no prop valve and the balance is great.

I think you mean 11.75's go with the sport rears Sport rears + TSE 11.75 BBK + Sport master cylinder & booster + Adjustable prop valve = bestest brakes.

OK, then that's what I'll do.
Any thoughts on the 6 piston calipers? It seems the 6 piston setup is available on the 11s but not the 11.75s. Cost is similar for 11s with freaking sick beautiful trick 6 pistons as for the 4 piston 11.75 setup.

Just to hammer it home:
You will have to look up the discussion about the 4 vs 6 piston calipers. Most seem to think they are expensive overkill, then again some people think the Dynalite calipers we use are garbage. It'll be interesting to see what you choose in the end.

I have the TSE 11.75 kit and I like it. Because:
a) it werks gud
b) rotors are $31. I mean, really
c) it werks gud
The only possible drawback I can see is that they need a 5mm spacer to clear 6UL's. I technically should be running longer studs in the front hubs. The only other issue this causes is for the .1%'ers who want to run 245 RC-1's on 11" 6UL's - a fender roll is already required, so +5mm is kind of a lot.
Therefore I may, or may not, switch to the 949 11.75 kit. Not because orange, because not +5mm. I haven't actually checked but I am assuming Emilio would not sell a 949-branded BBK that did not clear his iconic wheels. Same calipers but different brackets and rotors. I plan to be a .1%er. But I've kind of spent my all of my tire budget and my potential 11" wheel budget on the engine, so just tracking at all this year will be a feat

How much are 949 rotors?
Edit: googled, 30 each, I like 30$

Are what $200 cheaper? The 6 pistons are more money but so cool. But it's OK. I'll spend the money elsewhere.
The sport fronts are also larger, but the rotors won't really do much for you without the calipers and brackets. Should have insisted they go as a set...
