Argh freaking site killed my comment.

Intercooler is one of those chunky Precision cores. 2.5" intercooler piping all the way.

The turbo itself might be the bottleneck perhaps? It's a nice Tial vband turbine housing, though not totally sure of the AR. But the compressor housing is small -- smaller than a 2860. It actually looks the same as the 2560 compressor housings I've seen, with the same M24 markings on it. dunno if that means anything or not. But the weird part is that this same setup made 323 whp uncorrected on this same dyno in October, with WAY better spool. This graph shows 15 psi and 17 psi plots from last October:

Keep in mind. It was easily 30* warmer yesterday.

It was 73 before, and 90 yesterday, so 17 degrees warmer yes.

I'm still just blown away at the spool difference.

Let it be said -- butt dyno reports the car is an animal. Seriously impressive the way it pulls.

Maybe the compact comp housing is choking it but that's a 71, so it still should flow to at least 350

What does the VVT curve look like? That's supposed to have a huge impact on spool.

Its the same as it was last time. I figured we could play with it at another time. Because spool is easy to log on the street.

It spooled better on wastegate. So I wonder if just better EBC tuning could make a difference.

Ed, has this been actually measured?

I think I'm going to chalk up the max power difference to heat soak/higher ambient temps. The fans at the shop are pretty pathetic in terms of flow.

the table isn't as important as the log showing it hitting target properly

*edit: pull the part number off the chra and stop wondering.

Yep. VVT angle is nailed.

30* at 2000
25* at 3000
24* at 4000
then drops down.

you can easily run more at 3k and likely spool faster
I've ran 38* before

Cool. We will try that out. What does it usually max at?

Or is it just something we need to test out.

On my car, I tested it and found it liked all the advance at low RPMs. I max out it's range.

Here is wastegate tuning.

Run 54: Baseline.
Run 55: Go to 19* at 170kpa. No power gain
Run 56: Go back down to 15*. So -2 from baseline. Power lost.
Run 57: Add 1 from 4k-5k 2 from 5k-6300, 3 from 6700 up. Power Gained

Tuning Spark ~280hp.

Run 60: DC at 35%. No timing changes.
Run 62: Add 2* timing. Slight map changes but overall no power gained. Might have lost power

We messed around with fuel a bit more. Tried playing with VVT and VICS. But couldn't really make any big changes. At this point Ed was ready to get off.

I'd like to go back with e85 and see if it was choking for air, and where we can send the timing too.
Thanks. Could you post the "final" map you decided to keep on timing? I'm guessing it's the one for run 60, since run 62 showed no power gained as you say, it may have even lost power.

Most of the temperature corrections are taken care of with a correction factor added in. I don't have the latest dyno files for Ed, but last time he actually made 321 with correction. Ed's turbo is spooling right in the sweet spot of VVT usefulness, so it'll make a huge difference. But if the table hasn't changed since the last dyno, I'd definitely think something's happened. Either the turbo is wearing out, engine is wearing out, or something else in the fuel/spark map is different.

I'll have to look on my laptop to see what the timing table looked like when I dyno'd it.

Send me that. The one I pulled from the ecu was quite close to this one.

Because it was being discussed in another thread

69: VICS set at redline
70: VICS set at 0
